I know this contest is months and months old now, but I'm apologize for bailing. There is really no excuse and I feel terrible about taking a spot that should have gone to someone well more deserving. I'm sorry to everyone putting this contest together, judges, all contestants, possible contestants, and anyone that put their time into it.
I had my course completed minus the planting and some surfacing work (as well as the par 3 and putting course). I lost interest in designing right then and there, like getting hit by a truck... no excuse though. I had disregarded the commitment and integrity of the contest as well as this community. Again, I am sorry for quitting and I hope to redeem myself as I am getting back into designing. Hope I can contribute to this community without being such an ***hole. Of course I am not looking to join any contests in the near future. However, I do see that I have a penalty and not sure what that means. I'm assuming I'm banned from entry to contests?...
On a positive note, the courses that were published were amazing!

On a positive note, the courses that were published were amazing! I think you're getting a little worked up. First off, because of the lottery and alternate spots, everyone who was interested got to throw their name in the hat, and since enough people had already dropped out, everyone who was an alternate ended up in the field. You weren't stealing a spot from somebody. And secondly, while we always want as many completed courses as we can get in a contest, there's always a few who don't finish for various reasons. It's not the end of the world. I believe you're ineligible for the next couple contests, but I'm not sure what the specifics are. As this was last years contest, and with the major being an invitational, I think you're probably okay as far as future contests go. Just maybe let the organizers know if you're halfway through a contest and realize you're not going to finish.

Thank you. I feel a little better but yes, should have let the orgs and everyone know right then.
p.s. Brookfield Landing is one of my favorite courses in the game. Amazing feel to the environment and playability of the course. Ultra realistic for me and had a blast all the way around.

I mean, Kessler practically made a career of not finishing contests. And thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
