Finally got around to playing this one. Let me start by saying there are few designers around here that you just immediately know a course was done by them. Wakanya screams Petty from the first tee to the 18th drop. Shot making and decisions, bold contours, and terrain movement all shine once again. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the plot and I’d be shaking if I was in group D.
CAM the man, save the empire! (A bonus for anyone that gets the reference)

So I’ve just played my second round here... just a superb track! Plenty of options, love the contours and the surfacing, and the open look to the course works well. First time around I shot -1... this time I had a disaster. Definitely one of the best so far!

Shame to see this slip to page 2 - I realised I'd forgotten to comment. Like with Bentleigh, Rocky and Cypress, you again manage to make some of my favourite holes in the contest and the environment is really well done. Love you one-upping my long par three with hole two and I thought 6 was an absolute stunner as well. Then there was that one par four on the back banked into the giant dune (edit: it was 15) that I just loved and loads of others I'm forgetting - I think the back nine just took over and I was having too much fun to take note. The par fives were all really well-thought out and I liked that your layups mattered. Agree totally that this screams Petty from the start and I think it's one I'll only enjoy more with each play. Takes a lot of work to make a course where you're still discovering new ways to play holes after the third or fourth round. Top work, captain!
Over to RJM in the contest that's not a contest.

Just finished my round at Wakanya! Birdie time: 8 Bogey beware: 9 that green is NUTS Favorite Par 3: 2 MEGA redan par 3, and in my opinion the best hole on course Favorite Par 4: 15 not a crazy tough hole, but that green shaped within the dunes was the best target on the course. Favorite Par 5: 8 - tight run up area but a great chance to get home in 2 if you take the risk. Love it. Shot a -1 69 (nice) with pin 2 and high winds from the golds. Greens and fairways were tricky, but there was plenty of width in that breeze to aim for wide parts of fairways. Those greens were TOUGH though...didn't see an easy look all round. Really enjoyed it 5 stars and a favorite from me 🔥🔥🔥

Brilliant course here Mr. Petty. Your courses always know how to kick me in the ass for making the wrong decision and this one is no different. I enjoyed it thoroughly though and will be back many times
