Has anyone ever had this issue? This started yesterday out of nowhere and I have no idea how to correct it. PC. I double click the desktop icon to start TGC 2019. Steam opens dialogue window as usual. Then the game starts up, but it looks like this: I cannot maximize it, double click it, or anything other than move it. I can one-click it and then hit alt+enter to full screen, but then it looks like this: The game is definitely running, the sound is working when it goes through the initial screens, you can make out the 2K logo as it goes through those screens, but I can't get it to run at a usable resolution. I've restarted my computer, i deleted and re-downloaded the game. No dice. My other steam games work fine, including the prior TGC games. Anyone have any tips or fixes? Thanks in advance.

Can you run it offline without going through Steam or does it give you the same issue?

Can you run it offline without going through Steam or does it give you the same issue? How do I run it locally? I've tried to run as an admin and manually closed steam, but every time I run the golf.exe it fires up steam, too.

Not sure if you can just right click the icon and run it offline somehow or not, but you can disconnect from wifi and it will prompt you to run it offline when Steam fails to boot up.

Thanks. I tried running it offline, same result. Steam did not fire up with no network connection but the game ran the same way. Just very strange. I'm wondering if there is a way to adjust the resolution internally on the game through a back door of some kind. Everything else resolution-wise is fine on my pc, this game is the only thing not working.

Maybe alt+Enter? Looks like somebody from HB forums brought up a similar issue. www.hb-studios.com/forum/index.php/topic,25604.msg314445.html#msg314445 Forgot you can't link to their site for some stupidly short-sighted reason. Search "fullscreen" in their search function and sort by most recent if you want to see the thread, but the gist is that alt+Enter fixed the issue.

yeah unfortunately, the alt+enter just creates that screen like the one in the OP. It will go to "full screen" mode, but the in-game resolution is like it is still stuck in a thumbnail version, and just hyper-stretches horizontally but never picks up the vertical resolution. I've never seen anything like this and can't really fathom what is causing it, as I've not changed any game settings, nor resolution settings on my computer for a long time. I hadn't fired the game up in a month or so, but that's about it. Thanks for trying to help, gamesdecent

I backed up my course files but otherwise completely scrubbed the game from my system then uninstalled it, then redownloaded it again from steam. Same issue. Has me thinking it's maybe a steam setting i'm missing?

Go into Steam and launch the game from within there and it gives you a chance to set the resolution manually I think?

Kinda had this happen to me recently albeit it would at least reach the Splash screen then nothing all the rest of my games played fine just not TGC
I downloaded latest graphics drivers and it fired up perfectly. Probably not the correct answer but trying to think of every possibility other than ones you've tried

Aaaaaand, the winner is: jimgem! Somehow, the native resolution on the game had been pared down to 624x624. Hitting ctrl+desktop icon let me pick the proper resolution on drop down, and it fired right up clear as day and fit to screen. Thanks for all your help, guys!!!
