Hey all, long time player, first time poster.
One thing that has really bugged me is this game while playing competitively is the varying wind conditions between players for the same round. I understand why the developers have put this in, "to give the game a real tournament feel" but this is a digital platform, not "real golf" and the sheer amount of players in each field shouldn't have the same "real golf" tour experience applied.
I am a 3 handicap golfer in real life and can see both sides of this argument, however in the spirit of "fair play" I feel each player in a tour or society round be set with the same conditions. Each player technically plays at the same time of the day on the course, so why shouldn't the conditions be the same?
I have played many ghost's to compare rounds and believe that the vast differences in scores are put down to this (other than ability). As an example, on one particular Par 3 hole with Master clubs my ghost opponent had 1 KPH winds into a simple 3 iron shot, I had 21 KPH head winds... Never in real life golf have I seen a swing of wind like this.
So that is my suggestion, set the rounds conditions for all players to give everyone fair play.

Wind is the same for all players for every shot during a society event.
While playing a society event, ghosts from outside the event can be added (and usually are by default), so that's why they appear to have different wind conditions. Those ghost players have played the course another time.

Hi ErixonStone,
Thanks for replying.
I don't think that is entirely true. There were shots that the ghost hit that were straight, yet I had 21 KPH left to right winds. The evidence is there to suggest otherwise, hence my post.

Patrick is saying that the ghosts aren’t necessarily in the society but have played the course in “general” play and as such are exposed to different conditions from the society. Are you sure the ghosts are in that society?

Oscar, I know what Patrick is saying.
I am saying that based on his info it is incorrect with what I have seen in the example I have just given above.

I don’t know what to say then as that is not my understanding at all.

The ghosts, indeed, had different wind, but that's because they were from rounds played outside of the society event.
If you manually added ghosts from rounds within the society event, then you'd see the winds are similar. If you logged in and played the society event from two different accounts/platforms, you'd see that the winds are similar.
Winds were standardized for online tours and society events a long time ago. Before then, people would log off if the wind was strong and play their rounds later in calmer winds. This practice was called "wind waiting" and was a big issue back in season 1. HB put in a fix to standardize wind as a response to feedback.
Again, the ghosts you're playing aren't necessarily from your event, and may have had different wind conditions, but all players in the event have similar wind.

Winds are similar in both strength and direction across all platforms/consoles (Within 3 mph and 90 degrees at the MOST). This is one of the checks TGCT does at the beginning of every new iteration of the game, and within our forums over almost 5 years it would have been sussed out long before now if winds did not follow this pattern.
