Since getting into Twitch (mostly hanging out on others’ streams and a little streaming myself), I’ve seen they have a partnership program after you get to a certain amount of followers and viewers and what not and it looks like you can get paid based on your channel activity.
Anyone know what those payouts are by any chance? Are the top streamers (people that get thousands of viewers whenever they’re on) making a lot of money off that? Just curious

The top twitch streamers make millions of dollars per year.
Anyone that has over 2,000 active viewers consistently are likely able to stream as a full time job comfortably

I'm a very small streamer compared to the big guys, but I'm a Twitch affiliate and when I used to stream more often, I would usually see $100-200US every month or two (mostly thanks to the awesome community here). Not enough to stream full time, but enough to take my wife out for a nice dinner every now and then.

There's also other things involved.
Subs/month for example. Some streamers have like 300-400 average viewership but like 1k-2k subs. How much you get for a sub depends on how many you have but you can expect somewhere in the $3-4 / sub (per month) range. I'll let you do that math. There's also things like donos and sponsors...that kind of stuff.
A lot of money to be made if you are a good streamer. You'll more than likely have to get out of your comfort zone with a different game but what I hear most from the top streamers is that if you start off by "trying to make money streaming" you'll never make it.
Just do it for fun and see where it takes you.

YouTubers make bank also. YT also has live game streaming.
