Down to ten courses left to download, really looking forward to playing all of these over the next week and having my own judging of the winner

When you're putting the finishing touches on your course, but know that you're likely not making it out of the group stage:

There is a bracket on the OP that has the designer names, but just in case you enjoy looking at it with course names instead, here is the alternative:

Let's just say I'm not packing for a long stay in Bracketville. Would'a been the same scenario for "The Encarta Club" warhawk137 .... so glad you made it through & there'll be no shame losing to Reeb in the round of 16... congratz!!

Of the original POOL A and POOL B groups (prior to the wheel of death) - 12 Pool A members advanced and 4 Pool B's into the knock out round....
Not that it makes any difference - just thought it interesting..

Jackdaw is going D O W N. Far better courses than yours have already gone this year so pipe down chuckles.

My Observations (scoring along with my Judge hat on):
1. Judges didn't particularly care for the Swiss Theme saturation... none of the Swiss/Alpine theme courses made it out of the 1st rd. 2. Big elevation change courses seem to be more polarizing to the judges. 3. "Course strategy" has a wide spectrum of meanings among the judges. 4. There's a clear Tier 1 of about 6 courses... we have one more round of weeding out the Contenders vs the Pretenders. 5. I think this format of 8 groups of 4 Designers World Cup style leads itself from the very beginning to a lot of dissension. The Groups are judged immediately as being either "Group of Death" or being somewhat easier than others. Which leads to a lot of hurt feelings when perceived inferior courses make it out of "easier" groupings. (Note- this style is certainly more fun... but perhaps a more fair way to do this would be to score all 32 courses. Take the top 16 scores. Then seed them for head to head in a 16 team bracket).
