Backspin not possible - what am I missing?

I am finding it is almost impossible getting any backspin at all with master bats these days, and cannot work out how to do it.
About all I ever get is with flops, by ramping up the loft box to the max it might stop on demand, but actual spin back as I see week in week out in real golf?
For me it is proving impossible to do. Why? What am I not doing right?
It cannot be speed because a fast DS simply makes the ball dive hard left (the whole fast/slow DS mechanic is broken for me anyway but it is what it is & I have no option but to deal with it)

What do I have to do to get any backspin?

To get backspin you have to go to the hb forum and beg the devs to put it in the game. Until then its not happening

The only time I've seen a fair amount of backspin is when hitting up to a very elevated green with a full wedge with the green sloping back to front. Other than that it never happens.

Yeah, backspin in this game is more of a function of the scenario you are in. Uphill, into the wind, max loft, wedge? AYO, have some fun. But in normal conditions, it's not happening.

I can inconsistently get some back up with a fast downswing. It just happens sometimes. Not worth attempting on purpose.

When i play real golf i hardly ever get backspin. Don't have enough club head speed and probably always slightly fat. So it doesn't bother me at all in the game. I will say it is very easy to get side spin. You can make a fade or hook look like a UFO with ease.

Might as well say "Never" then, as HB don't even bother to respond to requests - not as much as an acknowledgement - and claim all the broken mechanics are "as designed".
It's not just backspin either - the stupid slow downswing flying much further than a perfect one is equally irritating.

To get back spin (I’ve only tried this with flops) you have to do a perfect backswing + slow to very slow (slower the more intense result in both fields of distance and spin) swing. This will lower you’re launch angle and hurts distance but massively increases spin. So very slow follow through decreases loft and distance but drastically increases spin

The less firm the green the more chance of backspin too

I’ve gotten some with flop fully maxed other than that it requires a slope and soft greens which for whatever reason is never used in tourney play.

Maybe a feet os so... if you play a fully lofted flop shot... and the green is sloped to you...
TGC 2 has a little more backspin, but only with flop shots (I think flop shots were better on that game than in 2019).

I do wish full wedges had a little more backspin as I actually think it would make the game more difficult.

Anything over a PW into headwind should not have any backspin. I'm not playing EA Golf for a reason.

Also, anything up close to the green should not have backspin. 25 yard flops spinning backward in previous games was the most unrealistic thing in the series. Doesn't happen in real life, shouldn't happen on here. You don't really see pros spinning back anything from inside maybe 75 yards or so.

I'm not a pro and my angle of attack is super steep. I absolutely rip the cover off. The spin I generate really hurts me sometimes, but I wouldn't change it for anything. Not sure why I even chimed in. I'm high. No spin in the game is just an annoyance. 😂😂
