I say leave as is. Some (or many?) of the WDs could be those that played and bombed and decided not to post their scores or just rage-quit.

Wow so first off i'm thrilled I made the cut on my first tournament. Rounds 1 & 2 went good shooting -8 on both....with only -4/-5 on my practice rounds. Round 3 on the other hand??!!!! completely the opposite way around...shooting -9/-10 on the practice rounds and well...the actual round itself just went horrible!!! Just barely managed to claw my way back to finish it at -3!! But still I'm currently tied for 11th so I guess I can't really complain haha. I've been lucky enough on the course though as the winds were calm enough (averaging 5-6mph each round) but the 3rd round was simply bad decisions with club and shot choice. GL to everybody else who still has at the 4th round to play if not the 3rd as well.

I've yet to see a tournament where there have been no withdrawals. That's neither here nor there. If someone has registered to an event you have to assume they'll play in it, and use the numbers generated, otherwise why bother with a registration process? You say the cut was too easy to make this week? Okay, so what? Nobody gains anything for making a cut bar a bit of prize money, and at that end of the leaderboard it really is just a little bit. As long as the cut is just as easy (or difficult) to make every week then it doesn't matter whether it's 10% of the field that make it, or 90%. Chopping and changing the cut based on fluctuations in participation is a needless complication. Let's say you have 130 participants one week and 120 the next, will you alter the cut from say 70 to 65? What about if you've got 128? Do you change it to 69? Where do you draw the line?

I don't think it's wise to change the cut line once the tournament has started. Depending on what the first round scores are, some people may base their second round strategy on trying to get to a score that will get them to the established cut line.
If we are gonna make the cut lines take into account withdrawals, we may need to just come up with a formula to estimate the cut line and use that to set it before the tournament. For example, the formula might be something like:
- There are 100 people registered for the tournament. - We'll estimate that 10% of those people will withdraw so the field is essentially 90 people. - Out of that adjusted field size, we'll say 70% make the cut. - Therefore, we set the cut line before the tournament at 63.
It might not be entirely accurate since there's no way for sure to know how the tournament plays out but it would give some sort of adjustment to the cut line.

I believe the cut is currently the same level we had when we had fields of 200. It should be reduced to reflect the smaller fields. It doesn't need to change on a weekly basis. You could set it at 50 and leave it at that.

If I recall correctly, the cut when we had 200+ fields was 110

I finished my final two rounds today. Shot a 67 and finished up with a lackluster 72. That puts me at -12 for the tournament. I can't say I enjoyed this course. It was challenging but it wasn't a fun kind of challenge. Oh well, hopefully next week will be better.

My aim in my first web.com tournament was to make the cut and I achieved that (far too easily). A third round 68 finished my aspirations of a top 10 finish and with it my appetite for this course disappeared too. I shot a career worst 75 in my final round.

I'll happily take 15th after such a crappy first round. Indeed somewhat irritated that hitting my scoring average on this course in round 1 would've got me 6th or 7th
