They need a "Resort" theme or something appropriately named for something with the fairway/rough/green colour pallete of Boreal mixed with the Boreal trees and the shrubs of countryside along with the added bonus of palms any ferns as a lot of courses have palms and ferns and think these should be more readily available. Having the palms only available in the desert them is crazy. Heck they might not be natural to a certain geographical place but most designers add palms to courses generally

I think it looks pretty good tbh. I can see it lending itself to British woodland and heathland courses really well. Would be nice to see something like Sunningdale with this theme.

For me, anything that gives us something new and a different look is a good thing!

I was a little disappointed to because I wanted something brand new- tropical, Asian garden, Sedona red rocks, Misty mountainside with pine needles/straw, etc. This looks like they just simply stitched two themes together. I'm sure it will look great, but I want to see some different looking courses again.

I think that's really sad to be honest that you would quit playing a course just because of the theme. While I agree that the Rural theme isn't the greatest out of the current crop... I feel Boreal and Countryside are hideously overplayed. I'm currently creating a Rural course, I picked that because I liked the lush green and white sand American look... and it really saddens me that people like yourself won't play it because it's not a Boreal or Countryside course.

I love the old look personally. For example Gator Hole is one of my favorite courses, and the Wild Dunes course I also like.
Keep pressing on Andy, I've seen your course and I can already tell I'm going to like it when I play it.

Its all down to personal preference Iv'e been playing the game since closed beta which now is about a year ,if i remember the closed beta started last feb.So iv'e put my time in on the other themes rural/autumn i still think alpine looks realy good but the new themes are a breath of fresh air.

Anything new is great, looking forward to it EXCEPT the higher winds. Really wish they would stop doing this, Links is my favorite theme but people avoid it for this reason......too bad really. 20+ mph winds is tedious and simply not fun to play in for me personally. Other than that, a welcomed addition to a great game.

That's fair enough and your entitled to have that opinion but I still feel to discredit a course after 3 holes, especially when it was a course you said you liked, because it uses the rural or autumn theme is a shame. Like I get that the new themes blend better but to be honest, I don't even see Countryside as a replacement for Rural. They feel like two totally different areas to me and feel nothing alike. Countryside feels very British inland links in style where Rural feels very manicured and American. Like compare these two pictures below to see my point. The 9th Hole at Chart Hills Golf Club in the English Countryside of Kent - Countryside Theme The 18th at Oakmont Country Club, Pennsylvania, USA. - Rural Theme You couldn't do Oakmont in the Countryside Theme... it wouldn't look right. Really all that's wrong with Rural in my opinion is the trees and grasses are too saturated. If they dropped the saturation down on the ground textures just a couple notches and recoloured the trees and bushes to be darker like in the Oakmont picture. Rural would be just as strong a theme as all the rest.

They are redoing the original themes, alpine -> boreal : rural -> countryside : autumn -> harvest : desert -> ? : links -> ? Boreal isn't the new Alpine, where are the snowy mountains? And countryside certainly isn't the new rura, where is the lush green grass? Can't even compare.
