Remember when those designers fell short after creating some of the best courses of the game? And remember when they all hijacked results threads to complain about how their courses were recieved by the judges? And remember when they started threads to tell everyone their courses were flawless and they shouldn't have lost points for anything because it was all part of the design, and anybody that said otherwise was wrong? "There isn't a template or rubric to success", literally a thread titled judging rubric. Also, the way you describe it, it definitely sounds like a template to me. You figured out what they want to see, and you went down the list, checking boxes off. That's literally a template hahahaha. I guess I was just confused by words like "original" and "your own work". Silly me. I should've just played the CC and Dream Team courses more, taken notes, and then just checked boxes off....
Oh, and I 100% said, at any point, that my course was flawless and the critiques were wrong. Pretty sure i never even said my course was ok or average. I knew what I made. After all, I'm actually a rookie in this contest, I have 0 tour worthy courses and I don't have thousands of plays. I just love how people can blatantly ignore the point, and latch onto something as weak as "you thought your course was perfect so no one's feedback would matter". For some reason I feel like I'm debating 9 year olds sometimes. No reading comprehension what so ever, and then latch on to one little insignificant thing and repeat it over and over lol....

At the risk of getting back on topic my course (cedar pines village) has 700 plays now and is handicap rated. What’s that mean by the way?
If you have used it as a society course let me know and thanks very much.

My 2 cents...... since I have been busy and pretty quiet after the rookie contest. I designed an amazing course. Many players agreed however the judges didnt..... and I agree with them... I knew I would have judging issues with light rough and perhaps the course would play too short with generous yet non flat greens, but thats a risk I took as I thought it woukd be a nice CC AM course. ...... and thats where I want to add to this thread... The feedback I received from the judges on their play throughs was spot on... a pity Reeb didnt get to mine  that hammer never dropped. . .....and each and every experienced designer I contacted afterwards replied back to me with respect and clear feedback aswell, if they had any.... Now to you Tott as you reignited this thread.... what is the purpose of your return here.... most of us have either moved on to other projects. . after licking our wounds to re open again and again😁.....where as you have a way of harping on an issues weeks after? |
