Just curious as to what causes the lag. Some course have it and some don't.
I dont design courses but was wondering what the issues are (at a high level) if I do.
Thanks in advance

I've only been playing this game for a few months now, but the only time I see lag (XB1) is when the course has flowing water.

Flowing water, excess use of rocks, excess multi-planted grass, excess shadows, lots of crowds. Those are the biggest culprits.
It also depends what is actually drawn on-screen, as the .Draw() method is the biggest strain on system resources. Stuff that is off-camera doesn't have much of an effect.

Another thing that impacts on lag is your graphic setup. On my PC, that has an integrated graphic card, if I play with high quality setup I suffer stuttering and lag in a lot of courses..but if I set my graphic accordingly, I can say every problem is solved. I don't know on Xbox, but on the ps4 of my little bro is the same. If you tweak a bit the graphic, problems are mainly solved. Another thing that probably can have impact on Xbox is the cache. Is useful to keep it empty.

Figured out my problem with irrational swings. Wired headsets, as soon as I unplug everything is perfect/perfect? Plug back in and very fast.
