I was diagnosed today that I would be a WONDERFUL candidate for a brand new knee. The Doc came in with X-Rays and says "Mr. Melotte, you must have been in a LOT of pain!" Bone on bone
SO - any of you have GOOD stories? I've had arthroscopic surgery but GULP!!

Had mine replaced after 4 ACLs when I was young, so my recovery was helped by that I’m sure. 30 years later and zero problems. I continued playing sport and heaping pressure on the knee, the only time it’s felt slightly weaker is on sudden change of direction - straight running causes no problem.
One of my mums friends had his replaced at 65. He missed about 6 months of golf but is now playing without using a cart, which was needed before he had the replacement.
There’s horror stories out there I’m sure, but every story I’ve heard is positive.

My granddad just finished his cartilage on the knees. He suffers a lot cause is exactly bone on bone.
The doctor said him that there is nothing to do..but I'm not sure if is related with his age (he's 88 years old..) or with some other reason, honestly.
I suppose (and hope) that in a country more evolved (at least on these kind of things) like USA your problem is solvable?

Had both of mine replaced over 20 years ago and I am still quite active in the cycling world.
A friend had one done and was skiing 6 months later.
