What's the consensus guys? Are you better or worse while inhebriated? Level of BAC?
I for one have some of my best rounds under the influence. Hell, I shot -18 last week with masters after about five beers.
I was nervous about the high winds in round 2 @ Norway this week and shot a -12 after downing a brew to calm my nerves after I got off work.

There’s a tipping point the same as when playing pool. 3 pints and the holes are unmissable, but it very quickly goes wrong after that, trying the impossible and drifting concentration. Let’s just be aware that i’m very average sober or half cut!

I very rarely drink these days. I'm out for a curry with my friends tonight but I'm driving so won't be drinking. The last drink I had was two and a half months ago while on holiday.

Definitely no alcohol while playing, then again, I suck when I am sober so I think that tells me something.

I shot -12 on TST a few weeks ago after 3 or 4 pints.
It was a fluke though

Just like Snooker and darts, there’s a sweet spot from can 4 thru till about 8 or 9 for me. Recognising when you’ve gone from that sweet spot to careless is the tough part.

I believe that everything you can do to attenuate the natural tension on your body before to play is good. So sex, weed (if it works in that way for you..for me don't works, I don't like it anymore by years) and a bit of alcohol I suppose is ok. Strangely..i still never tried to play this game under the influence. But it sounds like a game that to play drunk is not a good idea..so you should reach an ideal point of relax. With alcohol is not easy to understand where that point is

A few drinks definitely helps my swing consistency as it gets me a little more loose and relaxed but, like others have mentioned, there is definitely a tipping point where my game begins to go downhill but usually when I get to that point it's a sign I've had enough booze lol. Most of the time when I'm playing tour rounds and such I don't drink.
The only game/sport I can think of that I continually get better at the more I drink is bowling. I have no idea why but my bowling league scores are proof.

I have to be sober to play any official tournaments (especially TGCTours tournaments, but usually sober for other society events as well). I play with a mouse ... and alcohol (or any other recreational substance) tends to make me lose that nice straight line up the blue.
However, I prefer to be a little buzzed, at least, if I'm playing other people (1v1, skins, etc), as it makes me care a little less if I shoot poorly and tempers my innate rage a bit.

Once it gets into the Afternoon/Evening, I turn the game on and like pavlov's dog's I find myself pouring a drink. I have fantastic rounds and terrible rounds with or without alcohol. I guess I'd say my best golf is around the 2nd drink to the 4th drink, be it Captain and coke, Beer, or good old Jameson! Any time beyond a 4th drink I make bad tempo look good

My only PGA win was last year. I played my openings rounds on Christmas Eve and thought I did well even though I was bombed. Later Christmas Day I fired it up to finish and realized I had already played all 4 rounds!
