The "click" of which guys are talking about, if I'm right (and I can be wrong, but has been the click I had), is that kind of "click" that allows you to virtually birdie every hole on every course on every condition. Is the consequence of the full understanding of how the game, every club, a course and your swing works all together. And what is, every single time, the best possible shot to let stop your ball really near to the cup. At least in theory. Then, of course, you must still execute your shot perfectly..and the success or the failure of your idea definitely will depend only by how much (and in what direction) your swing deviates from the initial idea. When this "click" will happens, you'll notice it cause your scores of -10 will be no more the score for the tournament, but often the score for a single round. And to finish a tournament around -30 it will be the normality. If not a bit delusional.

This is all quite literally the reason why I just finished Q-school with Master clubs (+28 for the tourney last week), was sent to CC-G (went down to Pro clubs) and didn't do too bad in the first two rounds, then screwed up on one hole in the third round, went full-tilt rage swinging for the rest of that round and withdrew from the fourth. I haven't quite got the minutia of detail down for approach shots, wind, pitching, chipping or putting (first golf game ever, only been playing for a few weeks), and I know that I need more practice. So, instead of becoming completely demoralized and frustrated/stressed every time I play, I dropped to beginner clubs, and requested to be demoted to the beginner tour, until I can practice enough and hone my skills to hopefully work my way up through the ranks...
Love the society, love the game...

DrnkNdKnwThngs if I could give you some advice, my first would be DON'T switch to the beginner tour. Not only cause it will slow a lot your improvements, but above all cause the beginner tour could be much more frustrating for you, in terms of results. And this cause, in the beginner tour, there are A LOT of really strong guys (PGA players,Euro etc..) who tries simply to destroy courses. The more wise move, if you really wish to improve enough to be competitive, is to play with pro clubs and to enjoy the cc tour. This will give you the chance and the time to play a medium level of difficulty and to improve with not too much frustration. Work the most you can on the grab on your controller to have a consistent swing, work on putt, study how much the ball rolls depending conditions and clubs used (consider, for example, that pro clubs have a certain amount of less spin than master clubs). Avoid to use hybrids and woods if the irons can cover the same distance : Unfortunately, hybrids are not well designed in this game..and after all is way better to use only irons. Always. And one or two woods for the higher distances. Start to practice conditions and pins of every round of the tournament. It can help immensely to build confidence, knowledge of the worst/best spot where to aim and the best strategy for every hole. Check, while you're doing this, also the longer par 3s on the course (and if there are par 5 holes reachable under regulation) and what club will be required (more or less, obviously) in your round, then change your clubs accordingly, to be sure to have the proper club for every situation in your bag. Work on the nuances of pro clubs : Learn how to obtain a slight fast or slow backswing, cause is a great way to gain/lose some yard with no deviations in the direction of your ball (how it happens when you have a fast/slow downswing). And..be patient.

ezzinomilonga - I want to thank you for your somber (and well meant) advice. I will most certainly take it to heart. Unfortunately, I have already been placed in the Beginner tour and will have to take my medicine and wait the mandatory 4 weeks until I can repeat Q-School. This is fine with me, as it gives me time to focus on practicing without the pressure/stress of competing. I will re-register for Q-School and then do pretty much exactly what you said once I qualify for whichever CC-flight I am able to qualify for. Thanks again! ~Drnk
