A few times in my round 2 this week at the euro tour i was baffled by some of my shots and the direction they were going. I lined up for a par 3 with say wind blowing from right to left maybe 5 mph, on a pin tucked on the right side. I hit what the game says is a straight shot maybe even slightly left of straight and yet my ball went right...through the wind and missed the green to the right. So what possibly could have happened to my shot that caused this?
I made a complaint to HB back in the summer that sometimes i would hit a straight shot, off of a course i created in which i KNEW for a fact the tee box was flat as can be and yet upon my swing the ball started off 10 feet left of my line in a 1-2 wind.
Has this type of stuff happened to anyone else? Is there a random landing or shot path in this game? Or is it just tee boxes not being level?!?!(this is in no way a complaint about the euro tour course this week which i think is a great course, as mentioned i have had this happen to me on other courses even ones i have created)

I get this a lot mate, very annoying. I have no idea what is causing it and what seems like a good shot when i hit it is infact an average one that ends up more than 20ft either side of the hole.
I personally think it is this issue that isn't allowing me to shoot the scores i know i can.

Yep. Happens so often, more often than not in fact. I get a lot of 10-20 feet puts, if Im not even missing the green. For me its mostly to the left of the pin. Its almost deal-breaking annoying!! I have read somewhere (Hbo?) that this is an effect on purpose.

Random mishit code, sort of just like Madden cpu comeback code, you know when you are leading by 13 going into the last quarter and all of a sudden your running back and receivers start fumbling and dropping despite having ovr's of 90 plus, and handling of 98. Get use to it. Lolz :-D

Feels like I get the opposite sometimes as well, a misshit inside the cone that comes off straighter than I expected (on PS4). Could it be that there is a secret mechanic - not conspiracy land random mishits for selected people but timing based - actually does have an effect on the swing and for some reason HB is not being clear on this mechanic? Dont see any reason for them to hide it, though.

Not including those tee boxes where the creator just didn't flatten it, the reason could be that your backswing - analog stick down - isn't straight. Go into a practice mode and mess with that, you'll see what i mean.
It is odd that, even if a tee box is not level, that the ball doesn't play as level since it is supposed to be on a tee that is manually placed to be level by the golfer. Obviously you cannot place a tee too tilted, the ball would fall off lol.

I have hit in the pond or almost in the pond at doral on the 18th almost each and every time I have played the course. I may of made the fairway once in the 20 or so times I have played that course.
It doesn't matter the lie etc. Search for 164 in courses, play the uneven lie, you will see clearly that your shot can jump any which way no matter the hit. Hit your shot and use the wind gauge and the vapour trail to determine your starting line. restart, hit 10 shots you will see clearly your shots are not starting out on your intended line. That will show you clearly lie plays no role. There is also a flat lie 164, hit 10 shots there, exact same results for starting line, totally random.
It's not the back swing, it's not the forward swing, it's not the lie, it's random and spreading. Even the pro tee guys are trying to get HBS to fix it, but it's falling silent as HBS will not respond to questions or concerns regarding this issue.
Have fun, welcome to my life now, the water is warm and your balls never last long enough to wear out.
By the way 1 inch dispersion at the top of your screen is a 60 foot dispersion with a 7 iron, enjoy.

That would be great if it were true. It only has a slight result on the later flight of the ball. Nothing at all impacts the initial starting line. Dozens of us have tested the crap out of this.

Glad it's not just me. Had several of these "mis-hits" in the Joburg tournament. Quite a few on par 3's. Love your quote Steve2golf below. I love warm water on my balls too. ? Have fun, welcome to my life now, the water is warm and your balls never last long enough to wear out.
