An idea that has popped into my head is to announce the course for a tournament on the Wednesday or Thursday before the tourney goes live on Saturday morning. This would cut down on people practicing on the specific courses. I realize that it might not do much but maybe a few strokes if people cannot practice for a month and have 45+ plays on a course leading up to the tourney. Realize its not a cure-all but maybe a step in the right direction while not turning off aids.

45+ practice rounds. Wow!!! I'll play atleast once for a scout and then maybe once or twice more if I feel I need it. I'm way off if that's the case..... Don't think that's a real solution but. Doyley and Co can play anything blind with scout cam.

Im not saying I do, Im lucky to get 2 or 3. 45 was an exaggeration. But i thought I remembered someone saying they played at least 25 at Lions gate. It might not stop the elite from dominating. This might make a stroke or two difference over a 4 round event. Nothing too drastic.

I reckon whatever is done to challenge the best will directly affect the masses rather than those few at the top more so

Very true. It's time to get your calculator out and learn how to ball
172 + (30 feet / 3) = 182 yards. Add loft as necessary.
I like how we get to have fun and play golf and get our simple math in as well

I think maybe a page from Links 2003 is maybe something to be reviewed. The guys over at APCD courses run a fantastic and competitive tour for Links 2003. I am sure there are several guys around here that have played over there. They do use a handicap system, which obviously helps level the field, but also keeps scores for tournaments realistic, but then again this is just a game.

I like how we get to have fun and play golf and get our simple math in as well THIS is the biggest problem and it won't change no matter what you do. You can mathematically calculate just about every shot and then all you got to do is hit it relatively straight. I just shoot off of feel for how much I should loft or if I should club up/down or how to adjust for wind or not but there are a lot of people that literally have a chart that shows the yardage of each club and its loft percentages. I don't know who really cares that much and has the time to take up to a minute prior to each shot working out their math or looking at their premade chart to figure out how to hit to the exact yardage they want, but more power to em, I guess.
