Following the brutal course for the promo event I was hoping for something nice and easy, this wasn't it! I always seem to struggle on these courses and I got frustrated a lot it's fair to say, especially with the putting. So many putts stopped 3 inches away on this course it was unusual, but the number of putts that moved or didn't move anywhere near what the lines were showing me bugged me.
Glad it's over, hope to avoid any demo marks with a strong final round.
One bright spot from the comp was a mega putt from 98 foot I sank in round 3 - enjoy! Shame the next hole I had a very fast swing and hooked it a mile into the ocean!
R1 - 65 R2 - 67 R3 - 64 R4 - 59

I found this course middle of the road. My only downer was the -3 in the second round.
Other 3 rounds were -9 -9 -10.
Should be safe from the dreaded red mark

Greetings All!
Good to be back in Triple C where I started this season and should end it. Played last week and forgot to report (-38 good for T51, safely in no demo no promo land also known as purgatory).
-10, -10, -7, -14 = -41
Might get a greenie!
Onward!

I got my tour card today and placed in CC-C. Can I start playing this weeks tournament today or do I have to wait until Monday?

Gainesville Open
Fearing another course to batter my TGC confidence I was delighted when I stepped out and shot a birdies in the opening few holes. The 1st could have been better as I missed the green and had to settle for par, but shooting -7 at the turn I was enjoying it and on a roll. I was slightly concerned with my GIR from the front 9, and that didn't improve on the back 9 staying at 67%. FIR also dropped on the back 9 as the course tightened up and my club selection made a few par 3's a challenge with distance. A -5 back 9 means I'm currently sitting in P3 with -12, but there are plenty of people yet to play and I can see a -14 or -15 is someone has a belter of a round.
Good luck out there!

I did get the FT, but as Ahhhnauld said "I'll be back!"

I did get the FT, but as Ahhhnauld said "I'll be back!" keep playing like the past week and I'm not so sure. I had a great start to this week's tourney carding a -10, but putter went cold R2 and only hit -3.. So, sitting -13 at the halfway point, I figured I might as well get the other 2 rounds in. It was a good day - R3 -11 and R4 -9 for a -33 total. Definitely won't be a winner, but I'm hoping for somewhere in the top 40.. Good luck Art in B land - maybe you could try for mayorship! LOL - also, GL to the rest of the triple C's this week!

-7 and -8 in the final 2 rounds. could have been much better but should be enough to stay put in CCC

Rounds 2 & 3 completed last night. 63 & 62 respectively and my first bogey in R3 Hit some absolute peaches in R2, and knocking in an eagle from under 3 foot is always a pleasure on a par 5 R3 was an opportunity missed again, didn't really get close enough on a lot of holes and going from very fast greens in R2 to Slow to Moderate speeds in R3 caught me out a few times. -31 from 3 rounds, a good 4th might keep me in the top 10. Edit - still have the 4th to play but -31 has dropped me to 11th. Close at the top, with only 3 shots covering the top 10 and 4 shots to 11th. Going to need a mega final round to push for a win but it's nice to be in with a shout after a few poor weeks.

Oh well, I won't be troubling the top places after my -9 4th round. Bogies the 17th which was frustrating.
2 putts got away, 1 lipping out and one dead straight which didn't go straight at all, but I did chip in for eagle and sunk a 37foot putt for birdie so about what I deserved.
GIR was shocking in R4.
-40 over the 4 rounds.

Never found any comfort level on this course. Very challenging for me.
R1: -8 R2: -7 (with a quad bogey on 9) R3: -9 R4: -3 T: -27 barf
Not a great week. Definitely a number of holes where masters clubs had a distinct advantage, and not even in a risk-reward way - just better, flatter landing areas, or easier yardage numbers into par 3s. Or maybe I just missed the 'safe' spots! A good course design though that held my attention throughout.

pair of -9s in the first 2 rounds. could have been 12s if the putter cooperated.
bring on 3 and 4
