The very fast greens on Rnd 3 killed me this week. First two rounds were all right, but nothing spectacular (64-65)...I'll be watching a good number of folks fly past me on the leaderboard in Rnd 3 and then I'll see how many of them I get to move past on Rnd 4, where I finally put it together close to how I had in practice on the course.
Guess I don't really need to practice for next week given what the tournament is and I think most of us know that course like it is our home course. Probably will spend the rest of the week designing and playing random LIDAR courses since there are quite a few new ones that I haven't given a spin yet, as well as a lot of smaller tracks that just will be fun to tee it up on with master clubs.

These courses seem to be getting harder Maybe I should have a practice round before diving in, but hey ho my own fault on that! R1 - started with an eagle with a great putt down the yellow slope but that was the highlight. A few more birdies and a few bogies and I finished with a -2 (67). R2 - wind speed was probably stronger than R1 but I found better positions on the course learning from R1 and ran home with a cracking -10 (59)

Wait what?
I would have played a replay then gone back to the sh%$. It might have refreshed it.
I would be peeved of this happen on an official round

Definitely a good test. LOL Finished two rounds and need to really pick up my game to avoid (another) red mark.
The course is tough, no doubt, but everybody is playing the same course, so no complaints from me..
(Well, actually a small one. Like Claybagel, I am not a fan of the way some of the fairways are sloped and humped and bumped. During Round 2 (forget which hole), my initial drive was dead center of the fairway, hit one of those humps, did a 90 degree turn and ended up in a bunker behind a bush. Seems a bit arbitrary, but as I said, everyone is playing the same course...... LOL )

Yes we all played the same course but it is a game of skill.
A couple of degrees or mph different in wind could mean my perfect fairway shot lands on a bump and goes to the rough while yours hits a downslope and goes 20 yards closer.
There is no consistent reward for good shots

Which course are we playing next week for "The Masters Tournament Qualifying"?
I am confused because the Upcoming Events list "Magnolia National (Tour)" by Craig LeVasseur
and the Weather Report lists "Firethorn National" by (unknown).
So which course are we playing next week?
Thanks!

Wait what? I would have played a replay then gone back to the sh%$. It might have refreshed it. I would be peeved of this happen on an official round I was on PC and just captured the reply via Gforce Experience where I click F11 and it saves the last 5 minutes of play. (which I edit in a video editor later) I don't think it would have reset though even if I viewed it via in game replay. It happens in this game and it's just like getting behind bushes. No option for a free drop or anything. I may have another replay or two of pretty much the same thing from over time. Usually wind up capturing/saving weird/funny/odd and the rare good shots lol. There is another hole on this course when you do a scout cam from the tee the camera captures another tower which is behind the tee. I think that one is a remnant of HB creativeness. When TGC19 came out they took it upon themselves to add a shitload of camera towers on some desingers courses. They wanted to showcase their new designer add ons, towers etc. I remember one or two (and I think Magnolia was one of them) where HB had polluted the persons courses with them, it was funny when it happened. Annoying for the designer who had to go in and remove then re publish their course.

Ended up going -2 and -9 in my final two rounds to finish at -20
My swing lines looked like an octopus falling out of a tree this week. Just never felt comfortable.

Had a decent last round, but still looking at one red mark (and possibly two! ouch!! depending on how the rest of the field finishes.). A challenging course, that is for sure.
One of the things I thought was really good on this course was that it did seem to reward folks who use Master clubs (and this is coming from someone who uses Pro clubs), which is a good thing.

Wonder if we can petition Augusta to rename Amen Corner to F... You Avenue?
Had lots and lots of these (not the going in part) today..along with my achilles heel...6 foot chips..normally would putt those but on these greens and speeds I find it safer to do a fully lofted real short chip and hope the backspin keeps me in range for a par.
Round 1 66 -6
