Hi guys.
Some month ago i started to work on a list about all the best courses available on TGC2019 AND all the RCR we have. Unfortunately, this list is an endless work and maybe not so useful..So, for this reason, i abandoned for the moment that project (THIS, project, if someone should be curious... docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13lM3XROqKEtgYHgNZXzaSDjNT6L8xnYzRxLhoG-mn38/edit#gid=0 ) (Please be patient, if you want to take a look. They are 1300 courses more or less, it takes a while to charge completely...) and so, almost a month ago, i started another list. This time with the idea to provide simply a complete and reliable list of the RCRs (Lidar and not Lidar) we have in the game we love.
I know there're already a bunch of these lists, but probably this can be in any case useful for someone, for two main reasons :
1) I'm checking every course with a satellite map to give the chance to players and/or schedulers, to know what they're the courses actually accurate enough to be considered "real" RCRs and then to decide accordingly what course to play, knowing what it can offer in terms of accuracy.
2) The list has already more or less 400 courses (almost 200 already verified, i'm still working to verify all of them..but they're a lot!!), plus 50-60 courses created for Simulator Only, just to know they exists, if you find these courses on some other list, or if you use also simulator. If i'm not wrong, i still have never found a list more complete.
Only some little premise :
-This is just a tool. Probably not so useful. I wish just to do something for the community and..i hope it can be helpful for someone.
-I know here in TGCT the graphic quality of a course is considered a very important part of a course, but being not a designer, i decided that it was not my work, to judge a course about the graphic quality. You'll find only an evaluation about the accuracy of a course. Then you can judge, playing a course, if it deserves to be used in some tournament or not.
- Some course normally considered a RCR, in this list will be listed as a RL (Real Lookalike). I beg you to consider that this is not an offence or a way to "belittle" a course. It means only that the course is not so accurate to be considered exactly a RCR. They're a lot of courses that offers a great atmosphere and the flow of the Real course, but possibly the shape of fairways, greens, bunkers or water hazards are not so accurate. It happens for a good number of courses but, again, is not a reason to consider these courses declassified in some way. Conversely, this is probably the best way i could ever find to recognize some prize for those guys who have the unbelievable patience to create a course absolutely perfectly shaped in everything. And they are a lot, even without the Lidar.
- Please also consider that, to be considered a RL in this list, a course needs to fit at least two of these three parameters, compared with the IRL course, otherwise they are listed as FL (Fictional Lookalike) :
1) correct total par.
2) correct order of holes in the scorecard.
3) correct routing of the course.
- On every already checked course, in the cell under the column that describes if a course is Real or a Lookalike, you'll find a little comment. You need just to click on the cell with the "R" (or the "RL"), to find it.
- If a course has not the comment in that cell, it means simply that i still had no time to check it. I'll do it as soon as possible. Please be patient.
- Every column can be ordered in alphabetical order using the "filter" option available in the second cell of every column..and the order is cumulative (as explained with a comment in that second cell. Just click on the cell to read it.)
- I worked on this list on my PC, honestly i don't know if and how it can work on a Phone. I hope so, but i'm not sure at all.
If you have some question, or if you see something wrong, please ask. I'll be happy to help/correct/solve, if i can.
Every feedback or advice to improve the list will be appreciated.
Please wait some moment when you open the Sheet, to charge every data and comment.
Thank you
