Has anyone ever tried using a metronome to help with swing tempo? I haven’t but I hope someone tries it out. Sounds brilliant

I have... metronome apps are free on the phone and it helped me develop my swing early in TGC. 68 to 71 bpm was what I used. I was trying to use Masters clubs consistently at the time on the xbox and it did seem to help with the very/fast/slow issues. Some of my best masters clubs rounds came with the metronome. At some point I got tired of the grind and inconsistencies of xbox masters and switched back to Pro. Once on Pro, I was able to swing consistently with out the metronome and stopped using it.
If I ever go back to masters clubs consistently, I will likely use it once again.

If I may ask, did you use the same BPM for your Pro clubs?

If I may ask, did you use the same BPM for your Pro clubs? According to HB_Craig C... "Across all 3 clubsets, absolute perfect tempo (dead center of the tempo window for both Backswing and Downswing) is identical. The scale of the tempo windows for Beginner are larger than Pro, which in turn, are larger than Master".

The only issue (or, to better say, limit) using a metronome for me is the fact that it can give you a consistent swing, but always the same. And I know it sounds great, at the start, but after some month of play, you'll understand that one of the nuances that you need to master, is how to obtain sometimes a PP shot with the less strength possible but still not slow or, vice versa, a PP but that caresses the fast swing. And this both for backswing and downswing. And, above this, sometimes can be really important to know how to obtain a slight fast/slow swing. Especially with the backswing, cause it could help you a lot when the distance you need to reach don't fits absolutely with the clubs you have in your bag, but it almost don't modifies the trajectory of your shot, while a slow or fast downswing do it. And the window to obtain these kind of swings is really little and I'm not sure a metronome can help or if it could became a problem. So I think that maybe the best way to build the better swing is possible, is to : 1) work to find a grab position on your controller very consistent and very firm that never changes. This is almost everything, for me. 2) control your breath and keep relaxed shoulders and arms. Always. 3) create a little routine, always the same, as for the free throws in basketball and, especially after a bad swing and/or when you need a different nuance in your swing, 4) try your swing a pair of times before to shoot.

I did try to use metronome after reading kickingguru's message. I play in CC-G with master clubs. Last week's tour I had +9. Practicing with a metronome worked perfectly for me and I did -21 this week's tour. I think players struggling with the swing should give it a try with metronome.
