I have a few plots "in-progress" but this one is actually starting to feel promising so I'll start sharing it to get some opinions on concept/ideas on how to accomplish my vision. No screenshots from the designer yet but I have a couple concept photos I'm working with: We've all seen rapids and rushing water in the designer before but they're always in short narrow streams (at least that I’ve seen). I want to take it up a notch and design a course around a large thundering river splitting off in different directions with small islands and rocky cliff faces. Biggest considerations: -Lag. Due to amount of waterfalls needed to create rapids -Object meter. Again, because of waterfalls needed -Look. Can I get the rushing water to look realistic on a large scale? Any thoughts in these early stages is really helpful. Feeling kind of ambitious but I'm going for it. Might end up being a bust...

I think you should be fine. Take a look at Arctic Fury's - White Rapids. There are others out there that I have seen, but this one is probably the best example.

I’d also recommend the opening holes (particularly 2 and the first par 3) on Kamauri Cliffs, which have some really nice waterfall usage. Cool idea and look forward to following

Love Petty's use of the falls rushing over top of rocks there. Also like how he put different falls over top of each other at different angles. Gave a nice churning water effect, like the water was actually interacting with the rocks and landscape. I think that's going to be key for me here, making the water look 3 dimensional

I have a vision in my head of a huge opening tee shot over the widest part of the river (around 120 yards wide) with little rocky and tree covered islands, large boulders. All with the white water moving around them so it looks more realistic. I'm going on vacation but I'll try to get something together in the designer when I get back. If I can recreate in the designer what is in my head, this could be really cool. (Although I may want to save it for the Rookie Design contest)
