I still think an 8 team playoff would be perfect. There’s a much bigger gap between 8 and 9 than there is between 4 and 5. You could also have a pretty simple formula:

Power 5 champions
Best Group of 5 team
2 at-large bids

Then you can’t have a situation like 2016 Penn State where they won the conference but a team they beat (Ohio State) got in instead.

Really scary moment today in the Cincinnati-Ohio State game. I wasn’t there because I really don’t care about either team, but my wife took my two oldest kids to the game and one of UC’s players collapsed and had a seizure on the field. She said you could see it happening from B-Deck at Ohio Stadium.

Really hope the kid is okay. You never want to see something like that happen out there. Can’t imagine how tough it was for Cincy to go back out there and play after seeing that happen to a teammate.

Man, college is going to be tougher than usual this year. That transfer portal changed the game a bit...

Jimmy looks lost in his 7 mill a year, players looks like they quit last year during the Ohio State game and STILL haven't recovered, new OC doesn't have a clue, quarterbacks are awful(again), defense looks soft and weak up front, seniors on the team look worse than they ever have. Complete embarrassment. Wasted talent everywhere.

Harbaugh has to go, end of story. Not the same guy that got lucky with Andrew Luck at Stanford, not the same guy he was at San Fran. 5 years no wins against Ohio State, 0-5 as underdogs under him, no big ten tiles or even being in the title game. Time to move on to the next head coach that comes in to fail. Can't watch that garbage anymore.

Penn St next week will be the game that they really prove themselves with Iowa and Wisconsin on the horizon. Their schedule has been a bit light to this point.

LSU is the second team I pull for. I have family in Baton Rouge and have always been a fan. That’s going to be the game of the year

I'm curious to see how Bama does this weekend against their first real competition. LSU has already played some good teams, so we kind of know who they are.

Minnesota - Penn St is also intriguing. I think Minn has a good chance since they are at home, but Penn St's defense is pretty dang good!

The Gophers also proved they are for real. They looked great.

Really glad there is a playoff system but I wish it was expanded to include the winners of all the major conferences and a couple of wild cards outside of the majors. Shorten the regular season by a couple of games to buy the time for the extra games during playoffs. It will also make teams play same level competition right out of the chute.

Unfortunately didn’t get to watch the whole LSU-Bama game. From what I saw Burrow was picking them apart at will and made a serious case for the Heisman.

Obviously ecstatic my Gophers pulled off the win. I think Penn State really underestimated the Gophers’ receivers and Morgan played out of his mind with some truly elite level throws. Good on Fleck for knowing they wouldn’t be able to win by running like they have been. Huge statement made that teams need to respect the Gophers run and pass game
