EDIT: Thanks to nevadaballin for setting up our CFB Pick ‘Em for this year! Everyone here at TGCT is welcome to join- password is “TGC2019” fantasy.espn.com/college-football-pickem/2019/en/group?groupID=82521I might be a bit early creating this thread but I don’t care... one of my favorite parts of the year is almost here! Should be a fun season as always. Will Clemson run the tables? Will Alabama get revenge for last year? How will Ryan Day do at Ohio State? Will Michigan finally return to the top? So many more questions to be answered! I’ve set up a poll as to who you think will win the National Championship. It’ll lock at the start of the first game of the season, which is on August 24th between Miami and Florida! (Go Canes!) My personal picks for CFB are: Clemson Alabama Michigan Oregon With Alabama winning it I think Nebraska is the most overrated team because while they showed promise last year, they still only won four games. It’s crazy to say they’re a top 25 team with no evidence. I’ll be rooting for Miami FL, though I don’t think we have a great chance lol. I’d be interested to hear everyone’s thoughts!

I'm a Michigan fan, been my whole life. Do not believe the hype, until proven that they can beat Ohio State in a meaningful game it's hard to believe they will do anything. Harbaugh's ego with play-calling and trying to do everything like Bo has killed all momentum he had when he arrived as the new HC. Haven't won the Big 10 since 2004 and it has been a weak conference since the SEC has taken over.
As you can tell, it's been frustrating lol. Being a UM fan and always hearing the hype, and then on top of it being a Lions fan growing up(ew), it's to the point where we have to see it on the field to really believe any of it is possible.
CFB playoff picks: Clemson Bama Oklahoma Georgia
With Clemson going back to back titles

Ohio State fan here, but also a huge fan of college football in general. A lot of questions coming out of Columbus heading into the season with a new head coach, a new defensive staff with the exception of DL coach Larry Johnson and a new highly touted, but unproven QB. I'm not worried about how Ryan Day will perform, I think he has the mental makeup to do a good job and there won't be any deer-in-the-headlights moments. The big questions for me will be the defense coming off their worst season in Ohio State history and Justin Fields. This will be arguably the most talented team individually they have ever had. But can they put all the pieces together?
I see Clemson and Bama being dominant and landing in the CFP. The final 2 spots will be down to Texas, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Georgia and LSU. I don't think the Pac10 gets one in this season.

I’m not an Ohio State fan, in fact I get kind of tired of them because there are so many around me, but I hate Michigan the same as any Ohio State fan. It’s weird. I was raised as an Indiana fan, so it’s easy to see why I left that fan base early on, at least for football.
What it comes down to for me is all the change at Ohio State makes me believe Michigan will beat them. I have... Michigan Ohio State Michigan State Penn State Maryland Indiana Rutgers
For Big Ten East.
But, it also takes me a few weeks into the season before I really start to make decisions as to which teams are for real and which teams are overrated.

Go Gophers? RowTheBoat. Haha I know, I know... Actually few know that Minnesota was an absolute powerhouse back in the 30s and early 40s. 5 national championships between '34 and '41. Maybe one day

I don't think the two obvious choices, Alabama and Clemson, return together this year. Maybe one but not both. Maybe LSU or Georgia instead of Alabama.

Maybe one day PJ seems to have them heading in the right direction coming off a 7-6 season with a bowl win. I don't see them contending for the B1G West, but a 6 or 7 win season is a strong possibility. It will be tough to turn them into any kind of powerhouse with the recruiting disadvantages. I do love that they have an outdoor stadium which makes those November games brutal in the weather! Football should be played outdoors!!!

Yeah I definitely like PJ and hope they stick with him for a while (not just fire after one bad season) because I think he will be able to grab a couple recruits each year that we probably otherwise would not have gotten

I don't have the hate for Michigan that a lot of OSU fans have. I was born and raised in Ohio, but my parents are from PA so the rivalry wasn't something that was taught growing up as it is for so many. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing sweeter than Michigan tears on the last Saturday of November, but I don't hate them. I think you are pretty spot on with how you think the East will play out. I believe Mich State is the wild card. They always have a strong defense, it seems to all depend on what the can do offensively that will define their season. Michigan will be strong, good QB, great WR and OL, but they lack depth at RB. Don Brown is a great defensive mind, he just laid an egg against OSU last year thinking they could play man-to-man against those speedy receivers. Penn State has a big question mark at QB, but their defense should be good. Not sure what Maryland will be like with new HC, but they have some good skill guys on offense. Indiana gonna be Indiana and Rutgers gonna be Rutgers.

Unfortunately for Minnesota, it is not a dream job for most coaches.

I don't think the two obvious choices, Alabama and Clemson, return together this year. Maybe one but not both. Maybe LSU or Georgia instead of Alabama. Can you please find a way to make this happen??? I would love to see a shakeup and for neither Clemson or Bama to make the CFP. The ACC is trash though and Clemson is pretty much a guarantee unless they get upset. I think they play Texas A&M early so that could be an interesting one to watch.

PJ Fleck found a way to make Western Michigan of all schools 13-1 one year... dude's a great coach. I can easily see them going 7-5, maybe 8-4 this year.
Later on I’ll post my record predictions for literally every team, which I’ve had in progress for a while, but with 130 (I think) teams to go through it’s taking a while. Should be fun!

It's not like Jimbo left the cabinet empty either, there is a lot of talent on that roster.

I love watching football, both college and NFL. its really the only sport I consistently watch and enjoy.
That said, I'm one of those weird people that really just loves watching the game, no matter what teams play. I will watch most of the preseason games in the NFL, because I like seeing the non stars play just as good as the stars.
Denver is my favorite NFL team, and Carolina just because they are close/home team.
As for college, I honestly don't have an allegiance. I like to see it be something different each year, get tired of the same teams winning. What I'd like to see more than anything is an expanded playoffs, from 4 teams to 8 teams. I've never liked that opinionated ranking stuff being able to guide the national championship. Let the top 8 or even 12 teams duke it out in a real playoff situation!
