What are some of the best holes you’ve played in real life or TGC, and what would be good holes to replicate. Please describe them, I’m making a course and could use some inspiration thanks!

Best 18 holes in golfHere's a list of great holes, of course there's other lists that will vary from this one, but it'll give you a few ideas. You may have to lengthen the hole to accommodate for the in-game clubs, but as long as it's got a rough feel of the original. The better known holes might be the best choice as there's more information available for them online.

Favorite hole on my favorite course. The 17th at Edinburgh USA in Brooklyn Park, MN.
Short par 4 features an island fairway. That’s right, an island FAIRWAY. Then a tough short approach over water to a peninsula green.
Here’s a flyover video: (Great video showing off the hole and some guy putting his approach into the water haha)

Sorry if I'm resurrecting a dead thread here but... I've always liked hole 1 at Par Line in Elizabethtown PA. Nicknamed "Electric Avenue" because of the high power tower right in the middle of the fairway. Standing on the tee box, you can feel the earth literally vibrating! Steel shaft drivers will actually shock you a little (almost like a 9 volt battery on the tongue for those young enough)! Sorry I don't have and decent media but here's a link to the course: www.parlinegolfcourse.com/

Every time I go, that place is on the list but we don't make it. Played Stone Ridge last time I was there though. And man, I absolutely loved that place.

What kind of Course you have in mind? A parkland? A links? A tree lined course? Elevation changes? Doglegs? Anyway..personally, i like a lot those par 4 or 5 holes reachable under regulation but with a huge risk, if there are the right conditions and/or if you are crazy enough to try. I love the par 4 (hole 14 or 15, maybe?) at Celtic Manor, in which you can cut all the hole driving over the trees with a fully blind shot. Or the final stretch of holes at Sheshan. With a par 4 short and reachable under regulation but really risky. And is the same with the last hole, a par 5 that depending the wind can be reachable or not. Then there are a lot of great par 3 holes. The hole 7 (or the 10? Sh!t, I can't remember) at Pebble Beach in the wind is probably still the Best short par 3 I ever played. A great par 3 there is also at Coeur d'Alene, huge elevation change, fantastic hole. But is a long list, really Then there are lot of template holes that offers iconic par 3s. Some impressive is at Shoreacres, for example. If you look for some idea of very particular and/or unusual architecture, the Los Angeles Country Club offers a huge number of interesting holes. The same did Spyglass Hill. If you look for a links course, Lahinch is very, very particular. The National Links of America too. About parklands with lot of water, Green Eagle in Germany, PGA National, The Glades Golf Club in Australia can offer some good idea. If you are looking for very tough holes, Shinnecock hills (I'm not sure about hills, while I read 👀), Merion East, Pine Valley, Chambers Bay and Erin Hills could help. But..all depends actually by what you have in your mind. Cause maybe some great hole could simply not fit at all with your course. Is hard to tell

One I've played here in Reno is the 15th hole at Lakeridge GC. A really fun Par 3 on an island green. Some day I may Lidar this course but I'm enjoying my designer retirement too much to bother with it any time soon. "The Number 15 hole at Lakeridge Golf Course is famous for both its panoramic view of the Truckee Meadows (Reno Valley) and its 150-foot total elevation change from the championship ("Robert Trent Jones, Sr") tees to the green surface. The green is situated on it's own island on the south end of Lake Stanley which makes this 239-yard Par 3 one of the most thrilling holes in West Coast golf."
Here I am playing the tee shot a few years ago. I put my first ball in the water. Yes, I have an ugly swing

I've played the TPC Twin Cities a couple times (where they had the 3M Open on the PGA Tour this year) and Edinburgh is on par with that course as far as maintenance and feel.

Well, next summer I will tell my friend that lessthanbread gave it a thumbs up and we will def play it! I love the golf out there. There’s so many really really nice public places. I think we’ve played like 12ish courses and other than Mississippi Dunes, they were all in great condition and at whatever the price point, it was well worth the money.
