Personally, I think it is pure hot garbage. Nothing and I mean nothing about it is new. Ok, the commentators are new and it’s GODAWFUL!!!
No way I’m buying NHL 20.

They haven't really done much of anything to change the game since they added the skill stick over 10 years ago. They've maybe tacked on a new mode here and there but the on ice game play is always more of the same. I think I'll skip the beta having just got EA Access when it came out on PS4 a couple days ago, so I'll wait and play the full game trial when it comes out and then get the game when it's added to the vault. Plus I've got a whole bunch of new games to play and my PS4 deserves a break after downloading almost a TB of games over a couple days.
What game modes does the beta let you play?

The beta lets you play everything except offline franchise and exhibition. So pretty much all of it. And you are right. Nothing innovative in the series since NHL 08. I have 19 and I don’t play it any longer. No way I’m getting 20 just to play 19. I will wait for PES to come out. EA isn’t getting my money any longer. |

Which is the best version to play? Always wanted a NFL game,just ain't sure which to get. Assuming you mean NFL as in football and not NHL as in hockey, you're technically in the wrong thread. I've never purchased a Madden game before but knowing EA I'll just guess their Madden special editions work the same as their NHL special editions. Standard version will get you the game, which will be the same as you get with the special editions. Then they probably have 2+ special editions which just give you Ultimate Team content like special edition players and card packs. If you don't plan to play UT there is no reason to pay the extra to purchase any special editions. Once again that is under the assumption they do Madden the same way they do NHL. |
