Tbh participation is never something that worries me here, if you are a sim golfer you'll love it here. If you can't bare the thought of shooting over par there are plenty of other tours. I would rather the 20 odd hardcore we have here any day because those hardcore are here because they love the real game and it's challenge.

When I commented earlier this year that I didn't like the tactics that were being used over there, I was figuratively shown the door. So leaving TST was a pretty easy decision. It was a good one. Jeff I was on the committee and was something I brought up again and again and again, just had enough in the end and I was there with RGT which was fantastic before TST came about, we can't police it was the reply. It actually went from 1 ghost ball allowed to just @!$# it have as many as you like. Remember this is a sim tour, Leon I honestly don't know why you bother. Look at the scores on TST, shows you how Sim it really is. Birdies are earned here and it seem that everyone that plays here has a savvy about the real game. I don't view it as genuine "competing" mate, is basically why I keep playing. I view 20th as 1st! So I'm far less annoyed by seeing the "top" players win... It's similar to my euro tour career. I target making cuts and not getting demo marks, rather than taking on the elite (cheats!)

That's what I love about this society, people calling penalties on themselves for using loft box. TST where it is perfectly OK to use ghost balls, as many as you like to get your green reads. I think the word Sim is somehow lost over there. Personally I don't know why they call it True Sim. To me "True" Sim would have ALL the aids disabled, including shot feed back, flag marker and the loft box.. It would be nice if HB could have a setting to disable all of these with one check box, The scores would be so much more realistic. To me, they way they play all the tournaments on TGC is arcade like, except for USE of course. I better not say anything or I will get treated like Jeff bdvs lol.

What I want is for it not to go lower than the 15-20 it was, and hopefully slowly grow it to 30-40 hardcore players who love our rules and society

My real life game has improved so much this year because I have committed to it. I am 5th in my real life society standings and a chance to finish 1st with a good finish on the 12 October our last tournament . Could well be playing Gleneagles next year which is exciting š

Greg Norman was an excellent golfer. Not gonna go as far as top 10 ever, but probably in the next "elite" level group below that. Shame he's only remembered for that masters meltdown, because he was actually a very solid and consistent player! It's just that his super aggressive style meant he was always on the limit... It wouldnāt be as bad if it was just the Masters. Not sure if you remember Bob Tway and Scott Simpson holing miracles from nowhere in 88. He dead set led all 4 after 3 that year, and only brought home the Open. I rank him as an all time top ten because heās second behind Tiger as longest time at #1 more than his poor major record. Not bad for a bloke that first swung a club at 19.

LKeet6, I agree to a point about not really ācompetingā, but week after week, no matter how well you play, you wind up barely cracking the top 25. Never mind a top ten. On my best days using USE rules, I can score -8 to -12. On pretty good days I score -3 to -6. On average days I hover right around par. I got sick and tired of shooting like that, only to find others shooting double digits under par EVERY SINGLE ROUND in TST. Iām sorry. No amount of positive self-analysis is going to wipe the idiocy of that away. Iām damn good tee-to-green, but my mid-range putting is below average (50-60%). My long putting is average as is my short game. There is no way that the ātrue simā leaders are playing the game in the spirit of True Sim. Here? We most certainly are. So whatās the point of playing TST? Itās just another society where exploitation of the rules (or lack of rules) results in arcade golf. Not to say arcade golf is bad. If thatās what makes you happy and gives the game value to you, then go for it. Itās all about enjoying ourselves, right? But donāt pretend TST is Sim golf. Itās just arcade golf with a different set of aids in use.

Depends on how you play it. If you do it the right way and only play turn based ghosts, itās fun I think. I rarely use more than one ghost because itās pretty slow going sometimes. I tend to score similarly in TST and USE because Iām not a huge user of the loftbox even when itās allowed, itās my putting thatās letting me down in both sim formats.
I think I moved past caring what other people shoot a while ago. My rivals all play the right way, some are way better than me now, some are worse - but I love the fact I shoot realistic scores with Master clubs, closing out a good round feels just as awesome as the rounds you hold on for a +3 or 4 when it could have been worse. Iāve always wanted a golf game where I shoot realistic scores and I think I have it. They can only get better as we all get older.
The only place Iām competitive is on a level playing field which for me is the BCT. Iāve never been much chop at reading greens on here but Iām a good reader IRL, so I donāt hate the grids. The more Iām playing Sim the better Iām getting at reading without them though, so there may come a time I prefer them off.
Donāt pet the sweaty stuff š

Had to play all 4 rounds in one go; went something like this.
Round 1- started with a chip in, then some pars, then a run of 4 bogies to end the front 9, then scrambled well, had an eagle along the way, and think I finished +1 or +2
Round 2- played well, but didn't make the most of it, as always. there were eagle(s) again, but too many mistakes, think it was -1.
Round 3- this was the bad round. Was +5 or +6 at one point. Scrambled quite well and got it down to +3 or maybe +4.
Round 4- all I know is I was playing a bit on autopilot, didn't wanna ruin anything, so was playing solid, but just trying to finish and not mess up. Mostly pars all the way, playing solid, birdied 12, then went eagle, birdie on 15 and 16 (nearly aced 16,) and all of a sudden I was +1 for the tournament! Missed a short birdie putt on 17 and then got a VF instead of the F I was going for on tee shot on 18, was between clubs for my LONG light rough approach, went for a fast that JUST clipped the bunker and stayed. Double bogie.
+3 for the tournament. Not bad. I actually think having to play all 4 might have helped. Wish I could've cut out the mistakes, could've been in the E to -5 range...

I was +2 after 3 rounds after a +1 second round and a E round three. You beat me with your good 4th round Leonš. Should of waited till Saturday as I had a few too many beers by the 4th round, I hit a 76 I think.

Enjoying our developing rivalry Need to play your ghost more, (can you do that cross platform?) and we need to get one or two rounds done early, so we know where we're at, for extra motivation

Might give it a go at beating your score on PS4 on Saturday š

It's got to make playing TST far more fun. I wonder if it's worth me trying to find a new rival over there. I know Gavin is there, and Leon is there, but they're here, too, and here is where I'd rather play against them. I know Jeff Freeman from the old F-Troop days, and he might be interested. Ray, do you have room in your rival gang for a new member? I'm on PS4, so that might DQ me right off the bat. NB: Making the cut in TST using USE rules would be an achievement. On any platform.
