Worst start imaginable with a 4 putt double on hole 3 lol. Was +3 after 6 I think, then got lucky with a fringe putt birdie that would’ve rolled 20 feet by had it not gone in...followed by a chip in birdie. Got it back to -2. Shot -5 in round 2, but not going to be nearly good enough.

Round 1 at Bellerive was horrific! Everything that could go wrong did. Bad bounces, lousy putting and bad decisions. I struggled to get approach shots close and had long putts for par. Finished R1 at +12. Final 3 rounds were much better. Round 2 was highlighted by a hole in one on # 6. Wasn't enough to pull me out of the depths as I finished Even par. Round 3 was +1 and the best round was Round 4 with a -2. I was hoping to finish the tournament close to even par on a beautiful but very tough track, at least for me lol. Good Luck everyone and Congrats to Gavlaar for an incredible tournament! R1 +12 R2 E R3 +1 R4 -2 Total +11 Congrats on your ace! That's still on my tournament bucket list. I may have to break down and play gav's turn-order ghost. I haven't so far because I don't like being humiliated, even by a digital specter. But maybe I can get some insight into how I can get better. I like the immersion of playing with a turn based ghost. I don't change from the games default spectator camera to the one behind the golfer. Irl you can't stand directly behind an opponent when he is putting. Rule 14-2b

I have played most of my rounds with gavlaar124 or darvaan turn-based when possible. I think the things that really separates Gavin's game from mine is that he is unbelievable with the short game. I've seen him get close from so many spots that are auto-bogey for me with a shortened flop swing that I can't replicate. He is a great green reader, and he doesn't seem directionally or tempo challenged with the pitch shot as I am. When my game is on, I can hang. When I am off, I have been humiliated by him on more than one occasion. Fortunately, I have been able to develop a bit of a rivalry with gavlaar124. One of the things I enjoy the most about this game is trying to match or beat his scores. I must say, that without the rivalries I would probably give this up as the new baby and new home are starting to take the time I could once spend on improving. I do love this society, and appreciate the hard work that all you guys put in that doesn't always get noticed.

Maybe I need to start playing with ghosts, sounds like some guys really enjoy it. Tell me what to do Paul! (To make it fun, but not cheating...)

Just leave the ghost on the default spectator cam Leon. You can get reads from your opponents putts and still see the breaks just like real life.If my opponents is standing in the way of his putt I change it to the opposite side spectator cam but never to directly behind camera. When watching an opponent play a blind bunker shot I change camera like I am watching the shot from the green irl. Not saying we have a rule to not watch a putt from directly behind a golfer but it's not allowed in the real game and we are trying to keep the sim experience here.

I’ve never played with a ghost in this game ever. I know in the screen where it shows your golfer standing there and the course settings, you can add another player, but where do you go to make it turn based? What is the difference even between turn based and non-turn based? And lastly, do you know what the ghost player shot for that round ahead of time? I want to play spoiler free!

If you go into settings in game, then there is a tick box to make it turn based (rather than just the ghost balls / labels all flying off simultaneously each shot) Turn based is like playing with that player - you see them swing and their shot(s) go off individually, like playing live Yes - when you select a ghost, their score for the round (total) is listed.

I do the same thing sometimes! Usually when I've started bad or I'm a long way behind, then go on a really good run, and I just want to concentrate on keeping the run going for a few holes. Like Paul said, just gotta get used to spamming the advance button
Thats what I usually do, just try to hit that button without looking at it. The problem with spamming it is, it spams it past the flyover, which actually (sometimes, in my case, hahah) is helpful to see.
When I see the other scores, 9 times out of 10, one of two things happen. Either I start thinking woe is me, why can't I be as good as those guys, or I start pressuring myself to beat someone *cough*ART*cough* and either way it makes bad shots happen.
As for the other thing being discussed, its why I really love this society. Everyone here is more concerned about playing the way its supposed to be, instead of shooting unrealistic scores.

If you don't want spoilers of your turnbased ghost's score. Just click through the leaderboard so you don't see it. Simple error that HB never fixed.

stoneysooner I always look out for your scores as well it's definitely a rivalry for me. As for my short game and green reading .... I've played since tgc1 and for most of the first season never knew about the loft box or moving the putting marker (closer on downhill putts etc) so became accustomed to partial swings and shorter putting strokes so it's just ingrained in my game now. I also play a lot of tst rounds and do some play testing of courses for the tst tour so that has developed my no grids green reading. I still miss read my fair share, this week's tst being a prime example of that, there's certain shades of green or lighting conditions that I struggle with but others seem to do well on and vice versa. Good luck for the rest of the season my friend let the battle recommence 😉😁😁 Oh and congrats on the new arrival 👶👶

Well it is the Ultra Sim EXPERIENCE 😉

Gotcha, thanks! Sucks you can see their score, unless I can shield my eyes from seeing it or something. I’ll have to check it out.

So the leaderboard won’t show your ghost player as being on the same hole as you?! But ahead of you as if you werent even playing with them? That’s pretty dumb lol. But yeah, can just click through it I guess.

Only if you look at the leaderboard, alot of players just advance click it. Otherwise it's the same as playing a live round. I used to play all my TST rounds live with a friend before he stopped playing the game. Been trying to get him to join USE
