Got home from Italy yesterday and managed to play last week's tourny! Played terrible, mostly putting, but at least I managed to get my rounds in. Started this week's as well, but internet dropping out all the time. Off to a festival tomorrow, so looking like I won't be able to finish. Internet fix is my number one job when we get back! Hope everyone is well

Just want to say how great the short game feels on USE,I will take that 60 foot putt over a chip or flop now. There is a nice balance that isn't ruined with a loft dialler, feels like the real life short game to me where feel for distance is so important. When I played TST I used to loft those chips up and felt so confident because it is so easy to get up and down, I've heard people say I loft up my chip shot irl but how much can you actually loft up a 60% wedge?. The loft box in this game takes all the skill out of the short game imo, I love the challenge we have here when we miss the green. That challenge here feels like golf I play irl and that's why I chose to carry on this society with the help of Robert, Will, Leon and Al. Love playing in this society no matter the quality of my golf, got a great bunch of sim players here with the same love of the beautiful game as myself. Exactly agree 100 percent.

WOO-HOO - first USE victory!
I had a feeling that the course would suit my strengths. The ability to hit to areas and get slopes to feed the ball into good spots meant my less than stellar ball-striking didnt hurt too much. Also no-one was gettign close to the pins in those final two rounds...
Managed to keep big numbers away and some really good bunker play and chipping in the last round clinched it.
Onwards!

-1 first round -4 second round
Putter really bailed me out in round 1. Could of been a disaster in those high winds. A nice start to round 2. Had a pitch in eagle on a short par 4 and made the turn at -4, but couldn't get much after that.
Sitting at -5 thru 2rds.

Internet was up this morning, finished my packing, and got my rounds in! Pretty terrible again, had a -4 final round going (got my putting eye in and dropped some beauties,) but even managed to mess that up down the stretch... 2 terrible tournies for me, but really glad I played them. See you in a week!

Congratulations to... well, everyone! as all of you beat me on this one. hahah. (talking about Oakland Hills)
but especially to Jay, Art, OKIbunchofnumbers and Emule, as you four are the main ones I seem to compete with. grats! I'll getcha next time!
Not going to go into details, but I just had a complete meltdown with the mental game, and it started with those four bogies in a row that ended R1. I actually liked the course, I just got into a rut where I could NOT hit anything that wasn't fast or very fast. That, along with frustration of reading the board, made the mental aspect that we all know is 90% of the game very tough.
Not sure that is fully conquered yet, but hopefully Pine Valley will be better!
Rock on!

I must say that my favorite USE round so far was Round 1 @ Pine Valley. The course is just so cool, and the challenging conditions really added to the enjoyment of my round. Really played well, and even though it could have been spectacular due to missed putts inside 10 feet, I felt like -4 was a fantastic score. I can't wait for the next 3 rounds.

1st round was tough going again for me. Think it was +14 or so, was +3 after 9 I think, but ended badly.
You may find some toys littering the back 9 as I started throwing them from my pram out of frustration. Hopefully Art can give me a stern talking to again 😁
Good luck out there everyone!

Closest handicap to zero! A true scratch golfer at last! 😀😀
Pine Valley awaits!
Good luck, everyone. Don’t forget your spades and shovels. Looks like we’ll need them this week.

Disastrous start, think i was +3 through 4! Battled back to -2, then couldn’t stop bogeying towards the end and finished +1. Had issues with putting, just kept blasting it by the hole over and over, multiple 3 putt holes.
