So, it's been a while since I've posted on this forum. 2k is dead to me until the new game comes out.
IF one comes out. So have been laying low from here.
I got in to the
MSFS2024 Tech Alpa over the weekend. Ran from Friday until today. (over now) Applied late, never got into it until yesterday. Had only 2 hours or even less to try it out as I had other things to do.
Only 3 planes to use. A fighter, Cessna 172 and some other thing. Just used the 172 the whole time
Some cool quality of life things coming in the new version.
Load time. Less than a minute. Compared to over 5 on the old version. Albeit the alpha is a stripped down version. Still though, they do say load times are way better.
From the world map you click on where you want to fly, it does a slight zoom, then the camera continues to just zoom down until you get to your plane. No loading screens.
Has a character creator for you and your co pilot. And yes the co pilot is actually with you in flight.
New atc voice dude. Sounds much better.
It was running the old photogrammetry from Bings 2014 maps but its supposed to be all updated to newest in the full version.
Ground textures are much improved. Again not all over until new game. Grand Canyon they put the new textures in. Did a quick run up the valley at LOWI (Innisbrooke) and it looked nice. Old game one of my favorite trips was start at ramp at Heathrow in the A320, do checklist and starup, taxi, take off and fly to Lowi and attempt to land. Not really enough runway but the flight is nice. Hour long, great scenery. Looking forward to doing that run in 24
Game loaded me with ultra everything and only thing I changed was to up the resolution to 2k 2000 whatever by 15 whatever. Ran great set at 60fps except Manhattan was a slideshow, as well as London trying to fly up the Thames. Imagine they have yet to really optimize the game and I'll need to spend some time tweaking graphics settings. Drop the object detail down a little for when flying in big cities. I never use the rolling cache which may help, but it can be problematic so I quit using it.
Has a career mode. Never had time to get into that.
Can walk around
Tried to get some video via Geforce Experience but it doesn't seem to recognize the game. All recordings came out 0 minutes 0 seconds. Yet able to screen shot.
Looking forward to
November 19 when it releases.
Forgot to set my hud to minimum detail, don't need those huge panels
Cruise ships all over. Will turn down the number of that setting.
Hope I can easily import my liveries I made for a couple planes.
2020 version
Picking up the band at Heathrow.
And this nugget.
