Just a bit of info from my experimenting with the map scale in the tool to show how it affects your .course file size and your plant meter. Anyone thinking of doing a course using a smaller scale may find it useful. These were all created from the same lidar data and then using a mask painted the same way each time (or as close as possible anyway) . The only thing that was changed was the map scale. Plot 1. Map scale - 2 (standard) Heightmap file - 11,544 KB .Course file - 3,813 KB Plant meter - See Pic Plot 2. Map scale - 1.5 Heightmap file - 16,912 .Course file - 6,079 KB Plant meter - See Pic Plot 3. Map scale - 1.25 Heightmap file - 26,783 KB .Course file - 8,774 KB Plant meter - See Pic Plot 4. Map scale - 1 Heightmap file - 36,854 KB .Course file - 11,181 KB Plant meter - See Pic But also using a scale of 1

Does the map scale affect the lidar resolution?

Does the map scale affect the lidar resolution? also curious if the background scale needs to be changed along with the mapscale...? I noticed LiDAR gets wavy if you move map scale > 3.0. Ive been having lots of problems with LiDAR course playability due to the planting meter. I have no trees but the meter is ~50-70% and the course freezes often during online play. Map scale of 3.0 definitely helps but I'm curious how far we can push the map scale before LiDAR data breaks down.

Hello, thank you for this guide. It might be stupid, but I get alot of request on highly detailed courses. I try my best ofc, but often i feel the map is too tight. If you have map scale on 3 for eksample, is there more ground to cover aswell? For instance in a map there was a club house (on the open street map) and there where 5 or six lanes of carpark. They wanted this implimented. But when using mapscale 2, i placed the club house right where it should be, and right next to it was a hole, and on the backside of the club house. There was quite a lot of space behind clubhouse, not now tho. Will it be more "up to scale" if you choose mapscale 3?
