Hello there, can anyone tell me the qualifying criteria for the WGC Cadillac championship? My current stats are $202000 earnings, world rank 58 money list 47. Didnt have an outstanding week this week, struggled on the Bavaro but shot a -43, which will hopefully place me somewhere in the top 40 or 50 for this weeks tournament. Also will next weeks tournament count towards qualifying for WGC cadillac?
my actual name is Peter Hunt in case anyone needs to look into it.
Apologies if I have posted this in the wrong forum.
Thank you

This post explains it: tgctours.proboards.com/thread/1696/wgc-cadillac-qualificationsNot sure if my logic is right, but I figure that if you are 65th or better in the WGR, then you can feel comfortable. If you are between 65-100, it could get dicey. It looks like 30th on the current Euro money list is 66th, while the top 5 Web money list are all 250+. So maybe top 95 in WGR are safe? This is all unfounded research, so don't quote me on anything!

Top 95 in WGR should be safe, but one week to go... so top 80 should be ok if they stumble, but if you are 80+ I would be concerned about playing well at the Honda (or Joburg). Also, if a lot of players 100-150 make the cut this week or next it could move a little...
I for one am acutally excited about the Puerto Rico open. Take out the top 100 players and I have a shot...

I think this weeks tourneys were the last ones to make a move because they said invites will be sent on the 24th. Am i wrong? :/

I think that makes the top 85 pretty safe especially if you made the cut this week.

This leads me to believe they will make this week's (week 7) tournament official and update all of the stats. Then they will send out invites. I just started the PGA tour last week so I'll be playing in Puerto Rico that week. It looks like new players will be at a disadvantage in terms of the WGR ranking for a while, which is fine for a few months or so. However, I don't know how many weeks the WGR ranking goes back. The real life rankings go back to the last 40-52 tournaments played in the last two years. If we use this, that means any new player would be ranked below an exact replica who started before them until the minimum tourney threshold is reached.

I'm currently sitting 98th wgr. I'll be really disappointed if I don't move up this week. Had a pretty solid tourney at bavaro. i just keep dropping in the wgr every week despite my game getting better. I love the wgr but I think it's kinda flawed until we start get further into the season. Our real life counter parts have 40 previous weeks worth of stats to go off of in their formula that calculates each player's wgr. We obviously started this whole deal at 0 weeks worth of stats. Not saying I have or had a better idea but it's frustrating to see my rank drop every week. I'll probably catch a plane flight with Misternic the week of the WGC.

I was 69th in WGR but I missed my first cut at TGC Bavaro. I'm interested to see how this works out.

ETA on invites? Today is the day, right? Been checking all day. 95 on the WGR. I'll either be the lowest ranked player at the WGC or the highest at the Africa Open!
