Is it mandatory that we refer to ourselves in the 3rd person on this tour? with some of the characters we have on this tour, I'm surprised they don't talk about themselves in the 5th or 6th person.

After hitching a lift with fellow tour competitor Darryl A. Montgomery after all if you can’t beat them join them. After reaching the tournament grounds via the 9th green of the Copa da Zika for this week’s tournament.
Mike thought about just sitting back and relaxing at the RV, but decided he might get a quick start to the tournament, hoping to get off to a hot start. Mike got off to a fair start birdieing 4 of the 1st 8 holes but then came the 9th and bogie to be -3 at the turn followed by another on the 10th, visibly shaken he would try to gain his composure over the final 8 holes, which he did to some degree birdieing a further 4 holes to finish his 1st round -6. Upon reaching the RV, Darryl had a drink ready for him, gave him a pat on the back and said, let the party begin. but where was Victor? It’s not like Victor to miss a party.

One thing is for sure... the defeat of last week put Victor Lane in a tough head-space. After walking off the 72nd green last week and sneaking into the RV to collect his belongings, Victor didn’t stick around to watch the trophy presentation for his good friend Darryl. No, he actually grabbed a ride back to the bus station with Jack Daniels, who had nothing better to do than hang out at the course, since he had been fired by Justin Chantres for putting the wrong clubs in the bag. Once at the station, Victor bought a ticket home, not to his place, but what everyone refers to as “home”... his parent’s house. He needed to see his mom for one of her classic pep-talks and to crack open a new bottle of Captain with his pops for a rum and coke. Lane acts like a hard-ass partier to fit in with Darryl, but the truth is, the rum and coke habit was a byproduct of a strong bond he had with his dad. Victor turned his phone completely off when he left the course, so he wasn’t even aware of the drama he had left behind. In his mind he wasn’t a missing person, he was just lost emotionally and needed space. He had every intention of playing again next week, which is why his entry form had already been emailed in to TGC Tours, unbeknownst to Darryl. The memory of those 3-putts in the final five holes haunted him all weekend. Victor knew he would have to be masterful on the greens this week, as rumors were swirling that PW3 had made over 100 birdies in his multiple practice rounds for the event. But Lane wasn’t the only one who recognized the importance of good putting. Just as he was finishing another mental regurgitation of those holes, Victor’s mom walked into the room and handed him something. Their eyes met and he felt comforted by the support a mom can provide with a look, and he could feel something the size of a quarter in his hand. “You miss every putt you don’t hit,” she said. Victor could sense her confidence in him, as he looked down to his hand.

Victor was feeling refreshed after a weekend at home and he couldn’t wait to use the gold plated ball marker that his mom gave him, but he still felt a little pressure and anxiety about the week ahead. How will the fans react when they see him? He didn’t want more crowds, more yelling, and more women. What he needed was stability and a low profile. What he needed was... a disguise! It wasn’t a perfect plan, because after all, his name would still show up on the leaderboard, but at least he would be able to navigate around the course without all the fan fare, and if the tour gave him a different pairing this week, he also wouldn’t have to deal with all of Darryl’s groupies on top of it. So what kind of disguise would he use? He didn’t want to turn this into Halloween and dress up like a moonshiner or a mobster, that would be silly, but what would keep a low profile? Just as that question was going through his mind, his eye caught a glimpse of the family photo across the room. “That’s it!” he thought, I’ll dress up like dad. There couldn’t be a more bland, not-so-cool golfer out there (aside from Brian Jeffords maybe). He’d be barely recognizable! Victor got up from his chair, grabbed the keys to his dad’s Saturn, and headed to Walmart. He had at least $200 remaining from last week’s winnings, so it was plenty for four outfits, a bottle of shaving cream, and a razor. Victor returned home, headed to the bathroom to shave his beard and hairline, got showered up, and then gathered his stuff to hit the road. The look was complete! He was so excited, he even forgot to say goodbye to his parents. That’s okay, he’d be turning his phone back on soon, so he’d just text them that all is well. Now all he needed was a ride! Normally he catches a lift to the next event with Darryl in the RV, but he had no idea where things stood with him since he stormed off last week and didn’t stay to watch Darryl lift another trophy. Victor turned his phone back on, slightly delayed by all of the notifications that flooded the screen, and then dialed his caddie, Captain Morgan. If he could bum a ride with him to the event he wouldn’t have to hitchhike. Victor was really looking forward to this week, hopefully keeping a lower profile and focusing on golf. But then, upon arriving and getting checked in, his plan came crashing down. The tour issued him a tee time, 11am on Tuesday, with... Darryl A. Montgomery.

Another missed cut this week on the European tour sent young Leo Nidas into a fit of rage. He doesn’t really remember what happened but the rumor is he stormed into the clubhouse threw his European tour card on the table and swore never to play again.
Leo was drinking himself into a coma in a local bar when the ESPN highlight reel from the BCT tournament flashed to Darryl Montgomery. Leo’s long lost buddy from their days on the European tour had inspired him to sell everything he had just to buy a ticket back to the US in hopes that he could join the BCT and renew his love for the game.
After a few drinks on the plane ride over the only thing Leo had left when landing in the US was his clubs. However, he had to pawn them to the Uber driver to get to the course so he didn’t even have something to play with when he arrived. Desperate to play after the long journey he stole 14 clubs from 14 different bags and compiled a set of clubs. The tournament officials informed him that he could not play in this weeks tournament because he had already played in the European tour tournament. Refusing to be denied access, Leo climbed the fence and played after hours pretending to be part of the tournament.
The Frankenstein clubs that Leo had fashion for himself felt a little off but he got the hang of it pretty quick. We are whipped his way around the course and turned in a -41 for the tournament only to be reminded by the official that he wasn’t supposed to be there anyways so he had to exit quickly.
Leo is excited to be part of the BCT nonetheless and looks forward to joining the real tournament next week.

It's a shame that Leo Nidas traveled all that way and gave up his own clubs to play as an exhibition when the BCT is heading to Europe next week! If only he had enough sense to look at the schedule beforehand and stay over there he would've saved a lot of money. Could this be a sign of things to come from this buffoon?

Leo has always been known for his emotional outbursts and irrational thinking. Never playing the safe shots, always going for the greens and the hero shots. He has an infatuation with telling his caddy to hold his beer while attempting shots and he's decided to save money on the BCT by using his beer cans as tees, he's confident this is a real money saver and great idea. Who knows how this will play out for the young gun on BCT.

After a 1st round 64 Mike had had enough and snapped every club in his bag, A feat that would have made Daniel Waring proud. After realizing the next day that he still had 3 rounds left to play he quickly headed over to the Lego Golf Rep. who had been trying for weeks now to get anyone on the tour to use their new clubs but no one wanted to be the Guinea pig, even if they did promise to build a better club. Mike had no choice but to sign on for the rest of the BCT season.
Mike’s 2nd round would get off to shaky start on the 1st only just managing to hold par, things would start to improve with birdies on the 2nd & 3rd but after hitting the bunker on the 4th he would drop a shot, it seemed that things were taking a very familiar turn for the worse, a par on the 5th did nothing to ease his frustration, then two great shots on the par 5 7th had him 15ft away and putting for eagle, Mike sunk the putt and would go on to Birdie Holes 8 & 9 to be -6 at the turn. Mike would start the back nine with par and would then go onto play his best 7 holes in quite some time birdieing 11 through 17 which included driving the 17th green, an unlucky put on 18 would see him finish with par for a -13, 57 for his second round.
Was it the new Clubs? The encouragement from Darryl and Victor? Or the bourbon? Probably a little of all 3.

Darryl is thru 2 rounds. He was paired with his old pal Victor Lane as we all know. There was obviously something in the air though with both of them. Call it tension I guess, but the two competitors went about their business. Darryl was a little peeved that Victor didn't even apologize for his behavior or even congratulate Darryl on his victory last week. He felt he deserved some sort of explanation, but there was none. As they walked off the tee box, Darryl thought "screw this, I'm just gonna kick his rear on the course, again." He went on to shoot a blistering 57 to get him into contention right off the bat. Round 2 was another story though, the course and his emotions of the Victor situation got the better of him and he struggle to a 65, which all but took him out of out it for the week. Surely it just wasn't meant to be this week for Darryl. His head just wasn't in it unfortunately. Round 1 scorecard for Darryl and Victor...

Hector decided not to travel back to Ecuador after last week's rough finish. Instead he hitched a ride with several strangers to make his way to Sonny's Willow Run. He also walked several miles along the way trying to clear his head. With 3 Top10 finishes in the last 5 weeks the pressure was starting to get to him and he started to forget the real reason why he came to this tour in the first place. He walked to the shore of a lake he spotted near the highway and started skipping some rocks across the surface. As he took a deep breath he began to hear a loud rickety motor coming down the highway. He turned and looked... it was Darryl's RV. There was 2 women sticking their heads out of the hatch on top screaming and one guy puking out of one the side windows. One of the women turned her head and looked at Hector as if she recognized him. Hector gave a little wave to her and she smiled and flipped him off. As the RV zoomed away another car was following just behind. Hector recognized the driver. It was Justin Chantres laughing hysterically with his window down as he passed. A huge smile came across Hector's face as he watched the car drive away. He noticed someone had placed a sticker of the Ecuador flag on the bumper. Somewhere out there... Hector had a fan! Was it the woman looking at him from Darryl's RV? With his spirits lifted Hector made his way to the course. When arriving on the grounds Hector found out that his late tee time would allow him to watch some of the others play the course. He made his way out behind the ropes to hole 3 to watch a few of the BCT superstars take on Sonny's Willow Run. He watched Daniel Waring, PW3, Jeff McCord, Mike Georgiades, John Gripmore and Vega Myers making scoring look effortless in their opening rounds. He then saw a large crowd began to gather. He looked at the leaderboard to see who it was coming in the next group. It was none other than Darryl and Victor. Hector eagerly made his way to the front of the crowd to get a good look at these guys who finished 1st and 2nd last week and are now arguable the biggest names on tour. To Hector's surprise the crowd was murmuring about Victor disappearing for an unknown reason between tournaments and perhaps some tension between him and Darryl. As the two walked up the fairway together they seemed to have put it all behind them as they both smiled and joked with each other. Hector smiled seeing that his competitors were in good spirits... then he heard a deep voice saying "Hey! You can't be here!". A security guard noticed Hector did not have a grounds pass and did not recognize that he was a player. Hector was escorted back to the clubhouse where he was detained for a short time. Jeremy Mayo spotted Hector sitting under security watch and told the security guards that Hector was not a trespasser. Hector was then let go and headed to the locker room to prepare for his tee time. Hector's Round 1 Tee time came and he was ready to play! He made 5 birdies in his first 7 holes! He was -5 at the turn and then made another birdie on hole 10. All was going well until hole 11. A missed birdie putt... and another on 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, saved par from the water on 17, missed another birdie opportunity on 18. A dreadful putting drought had Hector flustered. He carded only -6 for round 1. Round 2... Hector was ready to make up some ground and he quickly did so. Hector was -10 thru 10 holes!!! Another putting drought came on holes 13-16 but ending with birdies on 17 and 18 had Hector leaving the course with confidence. He had carded a -13 (57). That puts him at -19 after 2 rounds. A quick peek at the leaderboard and he realized he was 1 stroke ahead of Darryl, Victor, Jeremy Mayo and Brian Jeffords. Hector has struggled on these tough greens but is still managing to put together respectable scores. With some momentum going for him he is hoping he can keep it going the next 2 rounds and have a crack at another Top10 finish this season. Perhaps Hector's mystery fan will show up to watch him play his next couple rounds.

After a great 2nd round of 57 Mike would start his 3rd round at -19 tied for 13th with Hector Vazquez, with hopes of getting back into the top 10 this week, he would start off hot reeling off 4 birdies in a row and then a par on 5, followed by 4 more birdies on 6, 7, 8 & 9 to be -8 after the front 9, the back 9 would be no different with Mike grabbing a birdie on 10 and 5 more on holes 14 through 18 for a bogie free 3rd round 14 under 56. A couple patrons were overheard saying “He sure looks like a different player with those new clubs of his”. If he could just manage to keep this kind golf up through round 4 maybe he’d have a chance at a Top 5 finish this weekend, something he hasn’t done since the Payne Stewart Memorial over a month ago.

Jeremy Mayo is quite the busy individual and already finds himself immersed in the BCT scene. After hearing Daniel Waring had gone low at the start of the week he tried (unsuccessfully) to petition for Waring's suspension for conduct detrimental to the sport, especially considering the broken shaft of Waring's 6 iron ended up puncturing Mayo's left front tire of his new-used Chevy Impala following last week's tour stop and caused Mayo to hitch a ride in Darryl A Mongomery's RV. There was some faint recollection of taking a sip from one of the groupies' drinks on the RV. The next thing he knew, he awoke in the RV on Thursday, and had missed his scheduled pairing with Montgomery and Lane. Tour officials, noting this is a common occurrence in "that D.A.M. RV," gave Mayo a pass and an afternoon tee time.
Even the afternoon tee time wasn't enough as a hungover Mayo stumbled through the first four holes even par. Four birdies on the next five holes got him to -4 at the turn and four more coming in gave him a solid, but unspectacular 62 to open. After the round, he noticed one of the security guards needing to get some ICE -- which would have normally not caught his attention -- but he heard some sort of commotion and noticed one guard had Hector Vasquez detained. After clarifying that situation, Mayo secured a rental car and a hotel room for what he hoped would be a good night's sleep.
Sound shut-eye has been hard to come by as of late for Mayo, who balances his dreams of being a contender on some tour, ANY tour, with his day job, President/CEO/CFO/Chief Architect/Lead Earthmover/Gardening Expert/Head Custodian of Mayday's Golf Architecture Worldly Designs (MyGAWD). He recently turned down a dogged merger proposal from some cat who wanted to change the company name to OhMyGAWD and, after his latest project in the Arizona desert was met with lukewarm success, was feeling the pressure as his latest project in the North Carolina sandhills was falling behind schedule. What was to have been an early night, turned into a several-hour conference call with his team lead about the bunkering on the North Carolina project.
Awoken by the early morning alarm for his round 2 tee time, Mayo found himself 1- through 6 before an eagle at 7 seemed to jolt him back to consciousness. A solid second-round 60 left him in a logjam just outside the top 10.
... To be continued

The first two rounds were nothing special for Victor Lane, and despite his disguise, the tee time with Darryl Montgomery put things right back to high-stress from the get-go, as he watched Darryl shoot a 57 in round one to his 61. Just like that there was a four stroke advantage between the two of them, and the pain from last week came rushing back to his mind. The two were cordial with one another, and although there was a tension in the air during round one, it wasn't enough to blame the poor play on, because that clearly came from the putter. Lane was heard griping on just about every green about the constant side-hill putts, which he's notoriously bad at. He didn't have the right frame of mind to be putting himself below the hole for straight uphill putts enough, and when you added in the inconsistent tempo of his swing this week, it was a recipe for disaster. As the two of them headed to the tee to open round two, Victor still hadn't apologized for abandoning Darryl on the 72nd hole last week, so the mood wasn't exactly high-spirited to begin the round. Things quickly deteriorated between the two of them as Lane made a terrible bogey on holes 1 and 2, while Darryl also bogeyed hole 2. Victor poured in a birdie on three, but quickly made another bogey on 4. They walked off the green on the fourth hole at +2 and +1, basically seeing the tournament going away after just 22 holes. They barely spoke coming down five, but they both made birdie, and Darryl also birdied the sixth. But it was hole 7 that ignited the duo into a more conversational mood when Victor made an albatross on the par five and Darryl made eagle. They were -5 just on ONE HOLE! Neither of the guys would make a bogey the rest of the round, but Lane continued to make birdies to Darryl's pars, and by the time it was over he had shot another 61 to Darryl's 65, putting them both at -18 at the halfway mark. Neither of them were keeping up with the field by any stretch, as the action at the top of the leaderboard was phenomenal. Jo Jo McDaniels and newcomer Shaun Trayys were lighting it up at -24, a huge six shots better than where Lane, Montgomery, and fellow DAM brothers Jeremy Mayo and Brian Jeffords sat. BCT superstars Jeff McCord and Chris Rogers sat at -22 with newcomer Marcus Mann, while friendly rivals Daniel Waring and John Yates sat at -21, PW3 at -20, and Mike Georgiades and Hector Vazquez nestled in at -19. All things considered, it didn't seem like Victor Lane would be a factor in the win this week, but he wanted to fight it out for a top ten and regain some confidence after blowing the win last week. He sat in 15th after round two, but if he could stay bogey-free and make more birdies, he would have a chance at moving up the board a little. He wasn't exactly sure where he was going to crash after round 2, as he had slept in the back seat of his caddie's car the past couple of nights, but knew he couldn't just go knockin' on the door of Darryl's RV yet either. But he was growing jealous about the size of the after parties at the camper that still went on even without him there. Clearly the fans were here for Darryl, especially after that third victory in four weeks at the Blue Moon. Lane was well aware that if his popularity on the tour was going to grow, he would have to earn some trophies, which was getting harder and harder to do with the uptick in competition. Rumor even has it that Leo Nidas is making his way to the BCT from the European ranks, putting another obstacle in Lane's way. If a victory wasn't going to happen any time soon, he had better make things right with Darryl so that he at least could hang out with winners!

How awesome is it that there are nearly 100 people taking part in this weeks event! There have been over 100 for the last few weeks, it’s awesome!
