don't know if there are others preparing for Q-school, but I'm new to the game - and someone thankfully pointed me to this amazing site.
anyway, I am getting ready for Q-school, but I really need a bit better feel of the game first. I was unsure how difficult it would be, and honestly I was pretty confident after shooting -5ish on the easier opening courses (the HB course - like Yuma and Blackwater Run, not positive of the names) -
well, the Yeti was a different story.
shot a +10 in my first attempt. partly wind issues and definitely some putting issues.
played with divotmaker's ghost on my second attempt, and really took my time. improved to +5, so I was pretty happy. still need to sort out putting, though - especially anything longer than 15 feet.
anyone else getting ready for q-school out there? and how is it going?

word to the wise, most of the greens on the q school are hard and fast, with lots of slope. The ball will roll at least 5 yards with a short iron and up from there with the mids and long. So you need to pick your spots and hit to them and let the slopes take the ball closer to the hole. If you go pin hunting you are going leave your self in bad places where it is nearly impossible to get up and down.
And do not use the flop shot max unless you have at least 5-8 yards you can spin the ball back to the hole. Some greens with that shot will take you all the way off.
Good luck
