I have no expectations to qualify for the US Open but wanted to use this as a trial for Master clubs . First round went okay although I did finish at even par, second round was a disappointing +7 as I struggled with the tempo. At least it gives me an indication of where I am and what my targets should be for the rest of the season.

Played rd 1 and I'll now be trying to qualify via Q2 or Q3; I #blamepablo.

Played pretty good .... but not good enough i would think.
-7 -11 -6 -5
-29 overall isn't shabby - but certainly not Top 10.

-5 in my practice rd with the exact same course settings. Then a -2 for rd 1. Figured I wouldn't qualify and haven't went back to complete it.
Pro clubs for life!
I did have good tempo in another society tournament (TGC Masters Club) and shot a -10. So that gave me some confidence. But honestly its like a workout. I'm all about focus and determination but getting old sucks. Plus the habit of switching back to Pro clubs doesn't help either.

I really enjoyed my 4 rounds on this one, excellent job pablo, it's a really good test. One or two pin positions I wasn't a huge fan of but I think that's pretty standard for a course like this. I was pretty pleased with my play overall, had a bad stretch of 4 dropped shots in 3 holes on the back 9 in round 2 and got bitten by the slopes a few times, but I finished on page 2 on Xbox. Only 33 players finished the tournament under par (about half the leaderboard) so to shoot 4 sub-par rounds I'll take as a win! (Even though I'm not actually going to win anything!)
63, 69, 68, 69 for a -11 total. Good fun

My sentiments are similar to giraffe. Was very happy to shoot under par overall on Xbox. Scores were 67, 70, 69, and 67 for -7 overall. Was very happy with the final round in particular. Second and third rounds were unspectacular. I really like this course and think it deserved to be in the top 10 of the U.S. Open contest. Looking forward to playing Cypress Dunes and O Hay in the other two qualifiers.

Had a good start in R1, but R2 and R3 let me down.
I accidently started R4 with Pro clubs, as use them for another society so that's this week ruined!!

Anybody keen to practice next week's course/conditions, they are in this thread. tgctours.proboards.com/thread/18859/say-country-clubIt was meant to be U.S. Open hard, so I'm expecting plenty of complaints...BUT, there's still plenty of birdie opportunities out there. Good luck to all who don't qualify this week.

You're getting old my friend I opted to play this event and indeed it plays very well over 4 rounds. I don't know if we played your intended conditions but we probably did, it felt like a grind some of the time but I capitalized in rounds 2 and 3 to make -44. I would anticipate that to be near top 10 in a pga setting

For the record, I was surprised this one didn't make the top 8 at least, but just shows how strong the competition was.

Just played all 4 rounds and...damn that was a wild ride. Shot -6, -2, -6, -5 = -19 and felt i played WAY better than i scored. I might have the lowest GIR for a tournament ever in my life yet i was killing it with the irons for the most part. So many times i was right there thinking a shot was going to roll up to the hole and then suddenly it catches a slope right off the green. I had so many putts from the fringe because of that. I am a terrible wind player and i felt i was striking it better than i could have hoped for only to be done in by the greens and false fronts. The real killer for my entire tourney was round 2 under the easiest conditions where i had a triple and double in the first four holes and had to claw my way back to -2...and eagle on 18 saved me from a round of E

Thanks guys for the comments about the course and the contest.... unfortunately none of you were in the judging panel In the conditions I suggested there were a couple of very high winds and I think there's where the crew went a bit more conservative than I did. rhino4life, I was sure they already knew me
