I''m still working on my Dream Team course, but I'll be getting started on this one in a week, maybe two. I have literally zero ideas right now, but once I get something good started, I tend to put my head down and plow through it pretty quickly. We'll see.

Broke ground yesterday and pounded out one hole (that's what she said). As for required elements, I'll be close to hitting them all, but I might miss one or two. At least ONE Driev-able par 4 - Yes
At least ONE Par 3 greater than 230 yards - Yes
At least TWO holes with ZERO bunkers - Probably
At least ONE blind tee shot - Probably
At least THREE par 4’s under 400 yards - Probably
At least ONE three shot par 5 - Probably
At least ONE template green complex of your choice (please specify template used and provide a real world example!) - Maybe
At least FIVE par 5 holes - Yes
At least FIVE par 3 holes - Yes
Total course yardage no greater than 6750 (for the contest tees. If you choose to NOT make these the back tees...well good luck because THAT is not an easy thing to pull off well.) Yes 6690 right now
At least ONE hole with elevation change equal to or greater than 125 feet - Probably

Here's my 125 ft drop hole. It was a nice surprise because I didn't think it was that far down there and didn't design it that way on purpose.

Love the look. Kind of how mine happened - I wasn’t planning on hitting this element but had the course all plotted out and knew this hole would be quite a way downhill. Then realised it was already down 107 feet without looking ridiculous. Just needed tweaking from there! Looking forward to seeing more of your course - first few screenshots look fun 🙂

I'm working on the back nine now. The 11th will be a drastic uphill tee-shot that is blind. There will be no bunkers on the hole to mitigate that. I don't love the 10th hole so I may redesign it before working on 11. Some new screenies below.
ONE Driev-able par 4 - Yes At least ONE Par 3 greater than 230 yards - Yes - 5thAt least TWO holes with ZERO bunkers - Yes - 3rd and 11thAt least ONE blind tee shot - Yes - 11th holeAt least THREE par 4’s under 400 yards - So far, yesAt least ONE three shot par 5 - ProbablyAt least ONE template green complex of your choice (please specify template used and provide a real world example!) - MaybeAt least FIVE par 5 holes - YesAt least FIVE par 3 holes - YesTotal course yardage no greater than 6750 Yes 6709 right nowAt least ONE hole with elevation change equal to or greater than 125 feet - Yes - 4th hole
Par 3 5th hole - 248 yards - gotta fix that cart path - blech
The first green - if you look to the left, you can see some of the course which gives you and idea of the drastic elevation

That shot of 5 looks beautiful. Love that thick planting down the left. Great looking bunkers too.

I'm trying not to share every little thing I'm doing here, but a few pics here and there can't hurt!
The short (very short - 500-515 yards) par 5 11th hole. There are no bunkers and the tee shot is blind. The second shot is blind if you don't get to the top of the hill. Instead of bunkers in front, I went with Pete Dye moguls and some tall grass.

A little update. I'm working on the 15th hole now, and I really need to buckle down and get this thing finished. Starting to see the publishing window on the horizon and I have lots of work to do.
ONE Driev-able par 4 - Yes, 2 - 13th and 15th At least ONE Par 3 greater than 230 yards - Yes - 5th At least TWO holes with ZERO bunkers - Yes - 3rd and 11th At least ONE blind tee shot - Yes - 11th hole At least THREE par 4’s under 400 yards - So far, yes At least ONE three shot par 5 - This may be the only one I don't include - I can't stretch any more length but two par 5s are 3-shotters into the wind At least ONE template green complex of your choice (please specify template used and provide a real world example!) - 15th hole - Redan At least FIVE par 5 holes - Yes At least FIVE par 3 holes - Yes Total course yardage no greater than 6750 Yes 6733 right now At least ONE hole with elevation change equal to or greater than 125 feet - Yes - 4th hole

At least ONE template green complex of your choice (please specify template used and provide a real world example!) - 15th hole - Wanted to do a Redan but it's not a par 3. So, we'll try a double plateau instead, a la 18th at Valhalla.
The one thing that is preventing me from working on this course right now is Fortnite. Kids have completely monopolized the xbox.

After consulting the expert (thanks joegolferg ) I've decided to stick with the short par 4 and use a Redan green for the 15th.

After consulting the expert (thanks joegolferg ) I've decided to stick with the short par 4 and use a Redan green for the 15th. I think that's a good call. I'm using one of the "par 3" template greens on a drivable par four as well. I think it works when you consider that 1920s golfers were hitting very long clubs into redans and biarritzes.

Thanks Joe. While testing it, the Redan shape really works, feeding the ball from front left to back right. Sucks if the pin is in the front right though.

ONE Driev-able par 4 - Yes, 2 - 13th and 15th At least ONE Par 3 greater than 230 yards - Yes - 5th At least TWO holes with ZERO bunkers - Yes - 3rd and 11th At least ONE blind tee shot - Yes - 11th hole At least THREE par 4’s under 400 yards - So far, yes At least ONE three shot par 5 - Added length will make this possibleAt least ONE template green complex of your choice (please specify template used and provide a real world example!) - 15th hole - Redan At least FIVE par 5 holes - Yes At least FIVE par 3 holes - Yes Total course yardage no greater than 6750 - Nope. Can't do it. My course plays like a pitch & putt right now. Going to lengthen by about 100-200 yards only.At least ONE hole with elevation change equal to or greater than 125 feet - Yes - 4th hole
I've got 18 playable holes right now, but I hate the way the course plays. I love the way it looks though, so I need to adjust a few things to get it playing a little tougher. I've set the lighting and have started planting. It's going to be tight, but I'm confident I'll publish a course that I'm proud of by the deadline.
