This is my first go at a designer comp... An easy win if you're matched with me! Of the required elements, I may or may not implement (In no particular order): Driveable par 4 Par 3 greater than 230yds Blind tee shot 3 shot par 5 Template green One hole with more than 125ft elevation change. ... Stoked to be apart of this competition! Even though I won't make it past the first round, it will be nice to get this experience and the feedback it brings. Good luck and let the fun begin (or continue...lol)!!

Yeah, it looks like there are a few first timers here. Pretty sure that prediction will be spot on haha.

After many attempts at starting plots I'd like to work with, I have finally settled on one! (I think lol) I'm going with the Countryside theme. The design is going to be very loosely based off a local course where I play somewhat often called Tierra Rejada Golf Club. It was designed by Bob Cupp. Although it isn't one of his best designs, it is certainly fun to play (if you don't mind losing a few balls; I lost 4 on hole #3 alone the other day). LOTS of elevation changes, risk-reward shots with OB everywhere, and amazing views.
For the design, I plan on setting the course in steep hills alongside a river overlooking a town (if I don't run out of plant meter) on the other side.

Here is a very raw look at hole 2 - 399yd par 4 - Best play is at around 220yds which leaves you with a clear-ish shot to the green. If you want to get closer to the green, you can use driver (master clubs) to get past the tree. If you do choose driver, be careful as there is out of bounds all on the hillside above (left) and in the ravine below (right) imgur.com/a/ioqngRX

I KNEW IT!...
I just knew that I wasn't going to stick with this design (at least for the contest; might build it another time). Going with a fresh idea. plot is semi-finished. Different theme, different everything. This one is going to remain as a bit of a mystery... for now...

Haha good luck with it. Definitely the right thing to change it up if you're not all in on the plot.

Thank you. I agree 100%. I liked many aspects of the design I had going with just a few things bothering me that I'm really not sure how to work around. Planting being a main issue.
As for the new design... I feel it's coming along very nicely. I have the plot macro sculpted and the 18 laid out. I will say it's a links style course... I've never tried anything like this before but I'm sticking with it this time!

Here's an angled look at the approach to the 1st green at "The Fox at Lost River".... I'm trying for all of the required elements and that might (probably will) come back to bite me in the butt. imgur.com/a/JIp5BFqSorry for the link... Can anyone tell me how to get images directly in the post?

Sorry for the link... Can anyone tell me how to get images directly in the post? To post pics directly, when you make your post you have to hit the picture icon above. You will find it next to the envelope and the movie directors thingy lol. Once you click this, paste your Image URL there instead of directly into your post and BOOM, The image appears P.S. I use twitter for this as I had a few issues getting imgur to behave properly

Quick update: 100% done with 14 holes minus planting. Driving range and short game area done. Still need to work on the clubhouse, putting greens, and all the planting. Going to try to put in a par 3 course and a putting course on the property.
