I wanted to do an Australian sandbelt course until I let Crazycanuck1985 pick my requirements and he gave me the elevation change one. So now I don't know what I'm doing. My requirements that were selected for me: 1. A course less than 6750 yards 2. At least 2 bunkerless holes 3. One hole with at least 125' elevation change 4. One hole with a template green

I think I'm just going to have fun with this one and push myself as far out of my comfort zone as possible. I'm toying with the idea of streaming it all as well, but someone would have to help me get all that set up at some point. (*cough* VctryLnSprts) A couple ideas bouncing around in my head are: - Boreal theme, because I tend to find it boring - No bunkers, because I tend to use them as a crutch, and I have to make two holes without bunkers anyways - As compact as possible, because my premise behind the course is: A piece of land up in the Tennessee hills, owned by a former-bootlegging-turned-legitimate-bidnisman (name TBD) with two loves - moonshine and golf. And all he enjoys doing in his retirement is mow his fairways once a week, keep his greens as short as he can, and cook up a good batch of shine every once in awhile. The first 3 holes are what visitors have termed "The Moonshine Loop", a par 5 out to the moonshine still where you can pull up a chair to the bar and drink your fill before the par 3 and par 4 return back to the clubhouse (his cabin). The remaining 15 holes wind up, down, and around the grounds, with the focal point being a rock outcropping that the locals have affectionately dubbed "Little Rocky Top". Once two strangers climbed ol' Rocky Top
Lookin' for a moonshine still
Strangers ain't come down from Rocky Top
Reckon they never will
Corn won't grow at all on Rocky Top
Dirt's too rocky by far
That's why all the folks on Rocky Top
Get their corn from a jar

Sounds incredible honestly. I’ll help you get set up to stream if I can. The community would enjoy seeing you design.

reebdoogHypothetically, if I were streaming my design, and wanted the audience to suggest crazy ideas on each hole that I would then have to incorporate - with the understanding that it's probably going to be 99% trolling that results in hindrance more often than helpfulness, that's not against the spirit of competition or outside help or anything like that, right?

nope. My take is that if you want to take some nutty ideas or something that's up to you to pull of well. Everyone has the opportunity to do the same. If you just sit there and say "now what?" over and over and do whatever folks say that's pushing it. I trust that folks can figure out a good balance. Also I trust that there are enough folks out in the community that if anyone begins abusing the streaming aspect I'll find out.

From what I've seen of your work, I doubt anything would be considered help for you as you've got some awesome stuff out there. My guess is you'll end up GIVING help rather than receiving it!
Your concept sounds like it's going to be great.. Good luck, hoping I don't draw the short straw..😁

I feel like your condition should have been two holes without rocks...
Love the ambition you are showing though and probably the course I'm most excited to see based on the initial ideas we've heard so far

The "Moonshine Loop" is complete. Very minimalist, as you can see. No bunkers is going to be incredibly hard for me to pull off. Here's the par 5 #1 out to the moonshine still and bar, followed by the par 3 #2 and par 4 #3 back to where the clubhouse will sit. I do love that the fairway texture blends in pretty well with the heavy rough texture.

How do people make things like this? It's very impressive.
