Rock Barn country club - Jones course Conover, NC USA
I had to download the lidar and metadata from the NC spatial website
error message I am receiving
Processing: 23942_1.las
Using metadata: NCEM_Phase4_ClassifiedPointCloud_Metadata.xml
Could not load supplinf
Could not determine lidar projection, please report an issue and send this lidar and metadata
Alternatively, look for something called EPSG Value in Metadata and provide EPSG and Conversion to Meters (1.0 for Meters, Approximately 0.3048 for Feet
The lidar .las file is 7GB not sure if that makes a difference. Its a lot bigger than the files I'm use to seeing. I was told this file is 8 points per meter
I can email metadata and lidar

I found the EPSG value. Now when I try to run the lidar the program freezes up. Is this because the Lidar file is 7GB?

jmorse012 sounds like you chose too large of an area. You would need 24GB of RAM in your computer to process that 7GB file.

Chadgolf the said the entire county was 1TB. The area surrounding the golf course was 7GB. My only option with this course now is to find someone to classify the old Lidar files

@jmore012 I thought with NC you select the area you want and it downloads it for you. I'll try to make a lidar order for you. If it is actually 7GB I can process it and send you the heightmap and mask.

Yeah the spatial website downloads it. I selected an area around the course as tight as I could get it. I called them after seeing the file was 7GB lol. The guy told me they are large files because of 8 points per meter. I have since put in another download request but I broke it down by individual tiles on their map. I’ll let you know if that works.
