Engineers is a Herbert Strong design on the north shore of Long Island. It is one of the few highly exclusive private clubs that chose not to remodel their greens; instead they are nearly as severe as they originally were but run at 9.5 stimp instead of the usual 12+. It's a short course that plays around 6700yds from the back tees, but it requires the player to execute precise approach shots or make some difficult putts to score low. I recommend you use the default green speed, and if you want more of a challenge then set it to moderate. For green speeds above moderate, you were warned ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Some of my favorite holes on the course include:
Hole 2: A 433yd uphill par 4 to a very sidehill landing area. The green is cut sharply into a hillside with a massive slope right in the middle of it. You don't want to miss short or leave your approach shot on the wrong tier as par is unlikely.

Hole 6: A 388yd par 4 with semi-blind tee shot and a blind approach shot for those that don't carry the steep uphill slope in the landing area. It's a very classic mid length par 4.

Hole 14: The infamous '2 or 20 hole' is a short 122 yd par 3 to a tiny green sloping from front to back surrounded by nothing but trouble.

Hole 15: An open 460yd downhill par 4 to a green that also slopes away from the player, there's a big tier that leads down to an additional back hole location. Should you miss your approach shot long to a front hole location, saving par is not guaranteed.

Hole 16: The other best hole on the course is a 363yd par 4 with a landing area that slopes severely from left to right. You can play it safe up top leaving a 150yd approach shot or you can hope to find a small collection area just inside the fairway bunkers on the right. The green is well below the fairway, one of the more unusual green complexes out there.

Hole 18: A 426yd par 4 played to a green that is in a depression similar to hole 16 pitched from left to right with a severe false front, so don't miss short.
