My career is a story of ups and downs- from being potentially the worst putter in the game to consistent top 10 finishes and even a victory, it’s still been fun the entire time.
2016
I joined TGC Tours in late April of 2016, and not realizing I could wait and play the May Q-School, I played 6 rounds in one night. I was also pretty new to the game, so I ended up in CC-E (CC-F and CC-G weren’t a thing then). After a few weeks of barely staying out of CC-Z, I finished T10 at the We-Ko-Pa Challenge to earn my first exemption to CC-D. It did not go well. I shot an 87 in round one, and promptly changed my name to Octokontaheptaphobia. I earned two more exemptions to CC-D before taking a break in July 2016. After a few failed comebacks, I racked up a few demotion strikes from DQs (this was before automatic registration and scoring, so registering and not withdrawing or playing resulted in strikes) and found myself on CC-Z.
2017
2017 was almost certainly my most successful year. In my first 3 events of season 3, I finished T13, 10, and T7. Then in Week 20, despite finishing only -7, I captured my first and only victory on tour! In my first week of my second stop at CC-E, I nearly won my second in a row, finishing T3. My luck stopped there, as I barely missed out on a promotion to CC-D, finishing T55. For the rest of the season, though, I continued climbing the ranks all the way up to CC-C when TGCT switched to TGC2.
2018
For most of TGC2, I bounced back and forth between CC-C and CC-D. At the US Open qualifying event in Week 34, while I ended up T295, rounds 1, 2, and 4 would’ve put me in really good position to play in a major championship: a +9 79 in round 3 killed those chances, though. After that, I stayed in CC-C for a bit before the end of the TGC2 era. I didn’t play tours early in TGC19, so that was the end of the good part of my career...
2019
I finally played Q-School in week 19 of Season 5. If I’m being completely honest, TGC19 is way less enjoyable for me than TGC1 or 2 because I have no control over where my ball goes. But I’m hoping that the more I play on TGCT, the better I become, and the more I enjoy it. After all, that’s pretty much how it went in TGC2. Besides, it’s a video game, so even if I’m finishing in last place on CC-Z, it’s still gonna be fun since the staff of TGCT have put together such a great site.
After some ups and downs (mostly downs) on CC-Am, I made my way over to the BCT at the very end of season 5. My BCT career was short-lived, but I managed three top 25 finishes, including a career best T5 at Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge. Ironically, it was my putting that held me back...
2020
After missing most of Season 6 due to burnout, I rejoined the tour and officially left the BCT and completed Q-School once again in Week 45. I didn’t play well, but it probably wasn’t a good idea to do Q-School as some of my first few rounds in almost a year. Oh well.
This thread will hopefully be updated every time I play an event, so keep an eye out for that!
