I've got a friend who's just getting into golf. He needs a good beginner set.
Any suggestions?

I've got a friend who's just getting into golf. He needs a good beginner set. Any suggestions? Lol, obviously not! I'd recommend cavity irons rather than blades, apart from that look at ebay or somewhere, certainly don't want to be spending too much when you're just starting out.

Definitely go for perimeter weighted or cavity back irons. Blades are tough to hit unless you’re a single figure handicapper, and even then you’ll probably get better results with semi blades that have some perimeter weighting.
Cheap is always good for a first set. If the bug bites they’ll end up with old sets all over the place as they chase a little something extra.
