Gave into temptation and got myself a PS4... Pros and cons: the main con is that my swing lines are wild with the DS4 compared to my XB1 controller on PC, which is bad enough on approaches but for putting it's an absolute nightmare, I was regularly missing the cone. Because of that I'm too scared to thunderc*ck because I have no confidence with what's going to happen, so I'm basically just guessing with every putt. I almost feel lucky when a putt over 10ft goes in. My long putt stat for the 4 rounds was 24% which is abysmal for me.
But the pro, oh lord what a pro... only 3 bad tempos I can recall for the whole 4 rounds lol, I'd consider 3 bad tempos a fantastic single round on PC. Night and day difference.
Finished at -31, within 2 strokes of crawesy which is unprecedented for me but honestly I think he played badly, this isn't that tough a course, and if my putting was even remotely close to my usual PC standard I would have had another 8-10 strokes I'm sure. I can see -45 or better winning this week.
Told myself I'll give myself a month with the PS4 to see how I get on, otherwise I'll sell it. I definitely need to find a new technique to straighten up my swing, some of the lines I've been getting would make Leslie Sangster blush.

I'll provide the alternative PC view then: tempo is actually getting worse.
Summed up by me only getting under par for the event at 15th (and that was by holing a bunker shot)
Yet another terrible missed cut at -7 total.

I can only hope to miss the cut after my miserable showing. I'm appalled at my performance, see you next week

I was tinkering with club changes in between 183 to 253 yards, so I am expecting a couple/few transition weeks. Finally have gotten annoyed with the 7W (hits too high for what I need out of the yardage), so that prompted a range session the other day. Will tinker some more before playing.

Well that stinks. Not the course, me! Quite the challlenge, must have a Masters hangover. Might squeak in the cut after 2 but doesn’t matter since I did more of the same to finish. Good lick

You must have played the wrong course if you don’t think it was tough.🙂

You must have played the wrong course if you don’t think it was tough.🙂 lol well it's no Little Brook Manor for sure, just didn't think it was that tough With a decently hot putter I could easily see myself getting -40 so I reckon someone like hippy will tear it to shreds.

-27.
Didn't find my swing until R4 but somehow managed to negotiate the first 3 rounds only making one bogey despite missing a ton of greens. I think this was a tough challenge - narrow with the high winds. Low -40's to win.

Early returns to be sure, but hippy is in the house, I just got there, and there are other good players finished up. Still no -40 or better yet. This is a tough track. Subtle, tricky, and exacting.

R1: -8 The choice of 1I 3I and 5I was not a good one. I had gaps several times when going into greens and the 3I cut through the wind a lot more than I expected and rolled out a ton.
R2: -10 Switched up to 2H 5H and 7H for the rest of the tourney. Solid, if not spectacular round. R3: - 5 Bogey free, too. Held on to my hat, butt, and whatever else I could in the wind. Couldn't get close or make putts. R4: -14 Putter caught fire, and the bounces went my way.
-37 total and mostly happy with that total. Cracking track!
Good luck to all yet to play or with rounds to finish!

-7, -7 to start. Tough track, tight fairways. Enjoyed those first 2 rounds. Think -14 should make the cut, as there's plenty of mistakes to be had out there, especially on the longer Par 4's.

180 greens are shite, they dont play true and are very inconsistent. Then you bump them to 187 and alot of lines still lie. I had so many putts go over the edge meaning i was 1 click from holing and 2 clicks from centre cupping it but they just wouldnt go if i adjusted it they went under. Also had a few approaches hit invisible leafs and kill my ball coming up 40yds short as the trees are encroaching the fairways mainly on 9 and one on the back 9. On a plus side i went 72 without a bogey but eagles are few and far between as the par 5s are hard to get close too without the right club on the bag. Good luck all left to play!!!
