Welcome to Superstition Valley GC! Inspired by a recent trip to Arizona, my latest fictional course provides a scenic getaway in an area well known for its legends of lost gold...and deadly rattlesnakes. Done in the Steppe theme, I tried to capture the true essence of the environment, which is actually much greener and more vibrant than many might imagine when they think of the desert. The course plays 7,026 yards from the back tees, 6,825 from the middle and 6,627 from the front. There are four pin sets and the course is tournament ready, but I've only added crowds (you'll only see them during society events). I've left out the stands and other competition structures so those who simply want to enjoy the natural surroundings can do so. Enjoy your time in the valley everyone!

This is a Design Competition worthy course. I love this version of the steppe theme- awesome layout and routing. Very strategic with multiple options off most tees. Planting that AF would be proud of and most of all super immersive!
I dont give out a lot of 5*, but this one is 5* all day.

Superb looking course, very much playable for all levels, a bit on the easy side but that's not knocking it at all. I felt some of the holes with tee shot options, I would try to think under what circumstances would I hit it here as opposed to there and the answer I would find is that really there is no advantage to the different routes. Also several holes I played to adjacent fairways to get a better angle. Most notably 13, there's no reason to play around the water when you have a straight shot to the hole on the left. I don't know what the best solution is given your planting style but literally no one is going to play that the way you intended..
All that being said I love this course and everyone should check it out to see how good the steppe can be

Wanted to be somewhere warmer than where I live and get a feel for the environment.

So many hours went into this project I lost count. I started working on the course as soon as I got back from the trip and wanted to make sure I re-created my vision while the imagery was still fresh in my mind. There were a few interruptions along the way, but I'm very happy everyone seems to be enjoying all of the work that went into it.

All that being said I love this course and everyone should check it out to see how good the steppe can be Thanks very much for the feedback and insights. I'm really glad you enjoyed the experience. You make a lot of good points that identified a lot of what was going on in my head during the design process. For example, I like to make players think and in doing so, sometimes one option will be better than the other and in other cases each option is just different, not necessarily better. So in some cases, it's just a mental exercise, which I personally enjoy when I play. Wind, however, can change the experience entirely. So seemingly equal options in low wind can become lopsided choices in high winds. I'll take note of your comments about #13 for future design projects. At the end of the day, I just really wanted to capture and re-create the essence of golfing in that beautiful environment which many people haven't yet learned to appreciate, and I wanted to do it while it was fresh in my mind. Until I took that trip and visited the area myself, up close, I had no desire to use the steppe theme. When I got back, I had a very clear understanding of how to make it work. I agree the level of difficulty is somewhat easy in general, which is in line with my intentions. But again, cranking up the wind can change the experience significantly. I'm glad you had a good time with the course!

Coming soon to a tour near you!!! Excellent job, the environment was just spectacular. Easy to give this one five stars. I generally enjoy tougher tracks but this one is a must play regardless of what kind of courses you like. π π
