Hey guys, I havent played on the Tgc tours in a while but was thinking about starting back up. I've played some events on the societies and looked at the World golf rankings and so forth. My question is this, is this game that much easier on the PS4 vs Xbox or Computer? it seems like 90% of the leader boards and the highest rated players are all on PS4 for the most part. You cant tell me that 90+% of users are PS4. I play on Xbox and it kind of removes my motivation for rejoining if there is an unfair bias toward the PS4 players. Really Im just curious??? Thanks guys.

Consensus here is that yes, it is easier. Data seems to support that as well. A few weeks ago 58 of the 64 original Match Play qualifiers (90%) were PS4 players. Those represent the top 64 players on the highest (PGA) tour here at the time of the tournament going by FedEx points.
Disclaimer: I have only played TGC2019 on PS4, so I have not personally compared. Mileage may vary.

There’s plenty of XBox societies where guys from here compete, and an XBox world ranking that a guy does and posts on the forums. Not the same, but helps a bit.
Personally I like shooting more realistic scores, so play on XBox rather than PC which I also have it on - which is a little easier than XBox, but not as easy (according to the figures the admins here have posted) as the PS4. I also prefer to play lounging in a recliner than sitting at a desk, which is probably the big difference for me.

If you are going to play with Pro clubs.. Xbox does not hurt you much if any. Perfect swings are perfect swings. You can get all the way up to CC-A if you can post -7 to -10 rounds on Pro.
If you want to use Masters clubs however, it will make a difference for consistency. That is what the problem is on the xbox. The most subtle differences in your swing seem to pop up every 5 or so swings. That little bit of variance takes a good round and makes it average pretty quick. After a few of those, I for one lose a little patience and stop taking my time. That then loses a few more shots.
It can be done on the xbox but from my experience, you need to be on your game the entire round and then some. No beer drinking, lazy playing, distracted playing, on masters clubs as those will tear your round apart. It seems you have a bit more lee way on the PS4 as some of those random very fast squigly swings do not pop up as much with its controller.

So a follow up question, I am assuming that the PS4 controller vs the Xbox controller is what makes the game a bit easier with master clubs? If that is the case, I've heard that there is a way to use a PS4 controller for Xbox. How is this done? I'm just exploring options and would like to maybe see how I stack up vs the better players with the same controller that most of them use. Thanks again for the advice and info everyone.

It’s easy enough to use a PS4 controller on a PC. I tried it back on TGC2 and just didn’t like the feel of it. I suspect a regular PC user (I use XB1 and prefer it over sitting at a desk, so not me) would be able to answer this with a bit of practice fairway time.

Do not know about that... I have tried an elite controller on the xbox and it just seems off for me. A standard xbox controller is what I use. On Pro, I was able to go from qualifying for cc-z tour (charles barkley turrible in the original q school) to CC-A. I then switched to Masters clubs in A and found some success early, but since have fallen behind. To score well on Masters clubs, you need more than just perfect perfect shots. The top level guys at the game know how to hit the in between distances with perfect/slow, perfect/fast, fast/fast, fast/perfect, ect... this opens their ability to get it close more often for better putts. If you are constantly 30 ft out, it is going to be a long 4 rounds.
Bottom line, there is a skill gap that is difficult to see when you are just trying to understand the tempo and hit P/P shots. Many on here do not understand it and are making cheating/cheesing accusations with no merit to them. I find the game has a closer feel to real golf than any golf game I have played for 20 years. I can get in the zone and then out. I am beginning to see where P/P shots are not the play and the value of hitting with a fast downswing to produce more spin and stop balls on the green. I am admiring the ability of CC-A and above on masters clubs to be consistent and go low. It is an art that few have the patience to figure out.

I believe what you are looking for is ChronusMax, which from what I've read about it, would enable you to use any controller on any system...though I don't think the tempo issues with master clubs on XB has anything to do with the controller, but more of a code flaw somewhere in the game itself.
I joined TGCT in Oct 2018 and have used masters from the start. The last patch paired with some server tuning by HB basically jacked up the XB for masters. With that said, I have simply adjusted my play assuming I'm going to hit more shots with Fast downswing. Now, I'm nowhere near as good as the top tier players, but I do feel I've gotten better over the course of the season thus far and will hopefully start to post more consistent lower scores and begin the grind back up the CC ranks.
One last note, by percentage of players, I believe the large percentage is PS4 followed by a closer split between XB and PC.
Disclaimer: The above statement is based purely on speculation, one of the other members or admins could probably get the actual breakdown .
