So since I started playing driving games on the PS2 years ago, I realised that the long sticks on the PS2 always gave a control advantage over Xbox controllers and its shorter stubby sticks. Now, moving to the latest GC game, it seems we Xbox users are having the same issue. I have seen a number of posts around the web where some people have various grip styles to improve their swing.... but some go as far as using rubber band mods and other contraptions, which to me is simply cheating. However, I have seen these silicone extensions, that sit on top of the sticks extending their length somewhat. To me, a mod like this that increases the length of the stick, would make it closer to the length of the PS4 sticks, possibly more. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00EZV6HHU/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B00EZV6HHU&pd_rd_w=sTI7r&pf_rd_p=e2bfafb5-111e-4906-b089-5d691a51d45f&pd_rd_wg=OKYQe&pf_rd_r=8C1VHT34XBGAF3FA3BZK&pd_rd_r=79138f0a-5855-11e9-99d8-fb133e14f13bNow, IF ..... IF, this does confer more control on the right stick movement, potentially it would improve your scores. So, is this allowed, and is it likely that many players already do this type of thing, but simply do not talk about it ? This would seem likely, because there are NO posts about this, and I cannot believe I am the first to have considered this issue. EDIT - Apparently they are legal in professional esports, but I wonder if it may be picked up by the sensitivity checks of your system, and could be deemed illegal ?

When we start winning real money, I’ll start caring.

EDIT - Apparently they are legal in professional esports, but I wonder if it may be picked up by the sensitivity checks of your system, and could be deemed illegal ? Not illegal, and wouldn't be spotted by sensitivity checks I don't think. For example, I have interchangeable sticks on my genuine, authorised XB1 Elite Controller. SOme longer, some shorter.
Never seen anything about 'banding up' your controller though!

Well FYI .... for anyone interested, I just got the extensions .... 10mm that doubles the longitudinal range, and it's TERRIBLE !
Appears to just introduce even more room for error, and you have to double the speed of the back and downstrokes as you are pushing the stick twice the distance.
So, it's actually a lot worse.

I find it easier. FYI, the stick is travelling the same distance, the radius it covers changes.

No it isn't.
If the extension is 12mm and the radial distance doubles, the longitudinal distance triples.
The arc is half the cirumference, which is 3.14 x diameter. So half the diameter increase - 6mm - is multiplied by Pi (approx 3) to give the increase in the length of the arc.
Ergo, the thumb, covers a greater distance.
This gives one finer control (for 50% shots etc.) but increases the sensitivity, and thus potential for wobble.
Also, to cover twice the distance, (bottom to top for downswing), it has to move twice as fast, introducing more room for instability, and a wobbly stroke.
Do the math. I realised this quickly, and simply could not push the stick fast enough to get a perfect tempo with Pro clubs.
Went back, for a refund the next day.

the base of the stick travels the exact same distance, it's your finger that travels further.

I’ve suggested this, why not have separate Xbox, PS2 and keyboard categories. I’d love to find a Society that is for Xbox only, and 4 round tournaments.
