chadgolf Is it currently possible to do this? I'd like to import the lidar trees only, but not re-import the heightmap data, as that will negate adjustments that I've already made. Essentially I've been working on the unplanted plot, and want to do the tree import one time to release a beta. If it's not possible, I would say don't spend any time on adding it unless others express a desire to have that feature as well.

Make backups of everything, THEN try this....
If you have the same mask from before, then it should line up.
Rerun the Import OSM and heightmap, but this time Uncheck the Import OSM box. Check lidar trees and variety if you want.
Then after that’s finished, you’ll have terrain and trees. Now click the separate terrain tool in the Tools Tab and save it as GARBAGE.noy since you won’t need it. Now the preview should just show a bunch of yellow dots. Those are your trees.
Now you can try to combine courses and insert your other course file where you’ve made changes. It should insert everything from that file into your new trees only course. Export as combined.course and see if it looks reasonable. 70% chance of success. You may lose buildings, rocks, and other objects.
