Is anyone else experiencing ridiculous times to a course to load? I can be waiting 10 minutes or more and sometimes it will lose connection and I have to start again

What are you playing on? If it's console try using a wired connection to your router if possible. You can also make sure your network isn't on overload (like a couple devices streaming movies at the same time). Also playing during peak times slows the game's servers down so if your network is lagging it would be amplified during these times.

I know XB guys have been having issues loading Lidar courses, with long load times and game crashes. If you're on Xbox and trying to load a Lidar course, I read somewhere that you can unplug your unit from the wall, wait 30 seconds, and then plug in again and go from there -- supposed to clear the console's cache, speeding up course load, and stabilizing gameplay.
