theclv24 - would you mind sharing the EPSG code for the lidar you are using? I'm trying to mess around ( I am not working on publishing anything at all FYI - this is just for personal fun) and I cannot seem to get the lidar import to work by forcing the EPSG. Lidar I'm using is this (one fiilename example - happy to provide them all) 20110913_GAE69501285 We ordered special lidar for this course, sorry, I don't think our EPSG would apply. No worries; is the public data not valid then? I started a thread in the Lidar help section with a link to the files I'm trying to use. Having a similar issue with Monterey Peninsula images as well. Thanks for any help - this tool is quite incredible and so much fun!

Folks, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, but I can tell you that from my experience this LiDAR based version of ANGC is the closest replication to the real course that you have ever seen. I was lucky enough to go to the practice round this past Monday and spent all day walking the course. I went into Craig's super beta and flew around the course, stopping on the spots that I spent hours at on Monday. When I zoomed in using Craig's LiDAR ANGC, the view, perspective, and orientation of the land was *exactly* as I found it in real life on Monday. The greens are uncanny, and I recommend folks play this super beta to get a feel for what the players deal with during the tournament. For those of you that have been to AGNC, you have seen that there are incredibly small areas on the greens where you can safely land the ball. For example, on hole 1, there is about a 25 square foot spot where the ball will stop, and everywhere else is a huge slope. You just can't get the feel for it from watching on television. Craig, thanks for taking on this project and I look forward to your results. Have fun this week!

I entered through the South Gate so I started on 13, just across from the green and up on the hill at the corner of the fairway near where all the drives land. I watched Bubba on 15 and I saw Tiger on 16. I also stood in the pine trees between 11 green and 12 tee where there is a natural hillside that provides for great viewing. Besides Amen corner, I sat on the hill behind the 10th green and watched the players practice pitching up from the bottom of the hill. I walked backwards on several holes, including 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 to get up to the clubhouse. I made a special detour to go look at the "creek" that runs on the left side of hole 2 because I remember Royce mentioning that he never it it was there before he recreated Augusta last year. Everyone had told me the land was hilly, but I really had no idea until I looked down from the clubhouse towards Rae's Creek at the bottom of the property. It really is quite amazing. One of the things that will stick with me is watching the players putt. Every time I thought the ball would come to a stop, it rolled another 10 feet. It seemed like uphill putts went forever, too. I've never seen anything like it (I went to East Lake last year, but even those greens aren't on the same level.

This is still out there, as a reminder (see post somewhere on page 1 for the name). And there are plenty of copies.
A version with trees has four holes done. Was on the backburner while I lost interest during the summer, but this project just got a real kick in the ass.

Is this project still going since the name got banned? Have you got details of beta so I can give it a whirl?

theclv24 Did you put this away because of the stupid name ban or is it still a project?
