So a couple years ago, I began working on a layout to mimic the golf course my brother and I designed in our backyard as kids, and some people seemed to like the idea! Unfortunately, I kind of lost interest, but now I'm finally picking it back up. Introducing... The Kessler ClubDayton, OH Par 71 6524 Yards (obviously our yard wasn't this big haha, but we created a full fake scorecard and everything!)Designed by Jacob and Justin Kessler Opened 1995(ish) My hope with this project is to not only share the fun little course the two of us made as kids, but also visualize what it would look like if it were real. I hope to document each hole with pictures as well as a description of the original hole. Enjoy! Hole 1 - Par 3 - 99 Yards The opening hole is the shortest on the course, coming in at a mere 99 yards. The green is also the smallest on the course, guarded by the big maple tree and flower garden. To the left of the fence on the left side of the hole is out of bounds, in the neighbors' yard. Hitting the green will often give the player a good chance at a birdie, though missing into the tall grass will create a very difficult up-and-down. Hole 2 - Par 4 - 417 Yards This dogleg left rewards a well placed tee shot. The big ash tree sits right in the middle of the fairway, so precision is very important. The fairway runs away from the player towards the drainage ditch, which may play as a water hazard after a rain storm. The second shot plays over the driveway to a relatively flat green, guarded by the buckeye tree on one side and the drainage ditch on the other. To be continued!
