Hi guys, I'm a regular over on GSF where we talk mostly simulator stuff but I'm here wondering if you guys would be willing to upload your files to the protee server for the sim guys to play these new amazing courses you're building?
From what I've read it's as easy as sharing the course file and having one of us sim guys just uploading it to the sim server.
I don't wanna step on anyone's toes here, I'm not sure if it's something you guys are willing to do but if so, it would be greatly appreciated by all who play on their sims.
Thanks, Jeff

Do you only want RCR's? I can send the Sweetens Cove file over, but it has a fictional back 9 we added to it.
Edited to add - This is not a LIDAR version as the LIDAR data for Sweetens is incomplete. Also, I could just take an extra 2 minutes to delete the fictional holes 10-18 as long as you're willing to see them in the distance on some holes.

If chadgolf agrees to stream a round on a simulator version of Kamauri Cliffs on Twitch I'll send over every course file I have.

I wish I had a camera set up, I'd do it myself. I can only stream like a regular round like the guys do on the HB boards except I'll be hitting them all over the joint with real clubs so no -10 scores for me

I may be the only one, but I didn't realize there were separate servers for sim players vs the general TGC database. That being the case, if you can provide us a good link in here for the best way to send those to the sim server, I'd be willing to bet yall will get a huge influx if new, top quality (by regular TGC gameplay standards, at least) courses to play.

I think someone manually imports the general TGC, but this is once per quarter. Either way, the plays, ratings, etc never make their way back.

Can only speak for myself...but I don't think most of us design to go back and look for play/ratings/etc metrics as a means of justifying our efforts. If we've already made a course for TGC, don't know why we wouldn't provide the file so that others could enjoy it, too...but that may just be me?

Hey B.Smooth13 I think the best way is to probably share the course file via dropbox account and then have the sim user upload through the designer. Pretty sure that's the only way to do it. I'm not positive how up to date the Alpha build is course wise. I can easily check if any of your courses made it into the Alpha build. As Chadgolf said, they only update their server once in a while so we don't get to play all you guys great courses for a while after you release them unfortunately. I can't believe chadgolf doesn't have the Alpha, that's criminal. They should thank you in the credits on the game for christ sake for what you just did for them.

Yeah, I’ll send over all my course files to whoever I need to. It would be way cooler to see a stream of your course played on simulator than just a regular in game stream though. Probably a lot of max strokes/rage quits on Kamauri though once that first ball goes over a cliff and can’t hit back up.

As I've learned many time at Pebble Beach, the unplayable lie button is the best course of action. Not sure you guys have that option in the game version though? I've gotten stuck too many times on the beach trying to hit lob wedges back up only to have the ball keep landing at my feet over and over again And I'll gladly play and and record a round there but you wont actually see me swinging the club because I haven't ever gotten around to setting up my camera. But it will be realistic and not the crazy scores from the game that's for sure.

I clearly don’t know enough about the sim side here. So you can take a TGC19 .course file and make it work in TGC1? Or is it a different program altogether that just works on similar programming, but has separate servers?

Or is it a different program altogether that just works on similar programming, but has separate servers? After they finish TGC 2019, they add in different controls so you can use a launch monitor. They also add different menus, remove all of the PGA Tour branding, and a few other modifications. The simulator company skipped TGC2, so we have TGC 1 and an invite only, separate program that is almost TGC 2019 as you know it, with some additional changes.

Interesting....so...seems like there may be a good "in" to getting an invite into that new program, hypothetically, right? Regardless, still think most would be happy to send over course files. I'll take a bit of time to peruse that sim forum in the next day or so, sure I'll learn a lot more there.
